the girls look good today. got a little bit of a burn on a couple leaves when i checked on them this morning. either the lights slipped down a little or it grew enough that it was touching the light. got a nice little present from a friend tonight for watching their cat though. bag of seeds and a little something to smoke. hehe.

your babies are looking good. Can't wait to see them develop a bit more...
any idea on the strain of seeds you were given?

i have no idea what strain the seeds i was given are. all i know is that they were from a bag they just bought (probably just from mids). i'm sure they are nothing special, but i appreciated the gesture. plus, i do find the mystery of what could come from bagseed kinda fun. lol.

my first plant was a mystery plant and half the fun was trying to figure out the strain as it developed...

well, today i had a friend that was going to check on my girls for me. i'm assuming since i didn't get a call saying that anything was wrong that's a good sign. 4 more days before i can get back and see them for myself! so, pictures and updates for sure on sunday.

so, i just got home and checked the girls and almost cried. the bigger of the two didn't look too bad, but has some burns on the top leaves from the lights and very bottom leaves were completely wilted. the smaller one looks absolutely terrible all but the top two fan leaves were wilted or dead and she hardly grew at all. i don't know what happened but my friend said they looked fine both times she checked on them so.......i don't know.

i'll try and get up a couple pics later so you can see how tragic it is.

alright well here they are. i topped both plants before i left. this is how they looked right after i got home. plant 2 had a lot of growth, and unfortunately grew into the light. the other one, however, doesn't look like it grew much. and as you can see in the pic it looks absolutely pathetic. i've trimmed all the dead stuff off both of the plants, and after giving both a good watering they appear to have perked back up. i was originally planning on switching them into flower when i came back, but now i think i will give them at least a few more days of veg to help them recover from the stress.

i switched them to 12/12 yesterday. both plants are looking better especially the small one. i've noticed some progress with the new growth today and am glad to see that she's survived the stress.

the girls seem to be doing really well. lots of new growth on both. just waiting on them to show their sex. i've got a third seed that i planted a couple days ago that looks like its about ready to pop through the soil. was just sort of curious to see what would happen starting a seed on a 12/12 cycle. i've got 4 23w cfls right now, and although they are not in the best configuration at the moment, its the best i can do for now.

i know its been along time since i posted last, but i've been crazy busy with school. the plants have grown a ton and i've been rather impatiently waiting for them to show sex, but as of this morning i have what i believe to be a girl. still no sign yet on the second plant though. i am a little concerned about my grow space. the plants have grown so much that they really don't fit, not to mention i feel like they aren't getting enough light. i can probably figure out a larger space for them, but i'm totally broke and i don't feel like i have extra money for more lights. so, i don't know what to do. anyway, here's a picture of the plant in question. although i'm almost positive its a girl.

21 days into flower
plant 1 is 52 days old
plant 2 is 45 days old
the little i guy i have no idea how old (started it after i switched to 12/12, so its something less than 21 days)

as you can see my plants have outgrown the space even with the little bit of LST that i've done on them.

other than on a few occasions when i've been out for a while and come back do i really notice the smell (unless i open up the where they are growing). i don't know what kind of conditions your going to be growing in so its hard to judge whether smell is a problem or not. i live alone, so i'm not really too concerned about it. also, i don't really have anything in the way of ventilation either.

i decided to finally harvest plant one yesterday. i think it probably could have gone a little longer but i'm going to be staying back home with my parents for the summer (not by choice, lol) and i'm leaving in about a week, so i don't think i could have waited. i really didn't want to chop the second plant as that would be heart breaking after all the time thats gone into it. so, i talked to some friends that are willing to take it on, which it still hurts to see it go, but i know she will be in good hands. anyway, just a few pics before and after i cleaned it up for drying. i'm hoping i can borrow a scale from someone, but just from looking at it i'm thinking i will get about 1/4 ounce from it once its dry.

59 days into flower at time of harvest
90 days old from sprouting

just a little recap on my setup.
miracle grow soil
minimal miracle grow nutes
4 cfls - 2 warm spectrum, 2 daylight
