this is my first grow ever.
just got some clones today.

specs:
White widow and Diablo OG
Grow tent
400w MH/HPS Cool tube
FoxFarm ocean forest and going to be using Fox farm nutes as well
Just transplanted these clones into bigger containers.
Hopefully will have some pics up soon.
The white widow looks a little yellow but the diablo is a beast already.

I can already tell heat is going to be an issue. Working on getting that fixed ASAP. need a inline fan, carbon filter and ducting still.. for now just using open air and a standing fan. seems to be ok for now, ideal temps and humidity... but thats with some of the tent open lol...

Quick question, how far should i have my light from the clones? they look to be maybe 2 weeks old.. could be younger. I dont want to burn them!:fire:

Hoping i dont screw this up! lol wish me luck

Hey guys, been awhile since i updated, had major heat problems! got rid of my small tent and im saving up for a new bigger tent.
I have the temps somewhat under control inside of my closet now, luckily. around 80-82 on average. about 78 at night with lights off.

I will put up some pics later today.
They are getting pretty bushy.
Its been about 4 days since i topped them and they are starting to grow faster again.

well its been awhile since ive updated. Plants are growing quicker now. White Widow has alot of vigor to it now. The Diablo OG is recovering from wilting leaves from overnight, it just needed some water, its doing alot better now. Ill post some pics in a little bit once the Diablo has recovered some more.

Ok here we go with an update with pictures. Sorry I dont have the exact date of the plants, its a guessing game for me because I never knew the date of them when I first got them.

White Widow
- 9 inches tall, little over 10 inches across.

Diablo OG
- 8 inches tall, almost 9 inches across.

IMG039.jpgIMG040.jpgIMG041.jpg

PS. I know its 90 degrees in there when the pics were taken, i had turned the fan off to let the diablo's wilting leaves come back before throwing the fan back on them. Its back down to 82 now, should get cooler as the day goes on.. Hopefully these will survive the summer heat so i can use them as mothers. planning on doing a SOG approach and harvesting every 2 weeks.

Cant wait to get to the good stuff, AKA flowering phase, when all the magic happens lol..

Well, until next time. Stay High!

Plants have slowed down in growth since last post, and seem to be having some issues. The heat has gone up a little but only to 80-82.. It seems as though the Diablo OG is sucking up tons of water and I am having to rewater it because it keeps having wilting leaves. Not 100% sure what the problem is.. It also seems that they are still getting burned somehow. It could be nute burn but I havent even given them full strength yet. Not quite sure whats going on here.. Ill post some pics later on today.

So here are some pictures of the problem. Its not everywhere, just in some small spots on certain leaves. Not sure if its nute burn or burning from too much heat? im at a loss.. the rest of both plants seem to be pretty healthy... Any help/advice is welcome!

Sorry if the pics are too crappy to make out the problem, I knew I shouldve kept my nikon lol..

Also wanted to add that my temps stay between 80-82F average. Humidity is about 43-50% fluctuating throughout the day.

how far away is your light ffom the plants? what ph are you watering with? and make sure you are not over-watering, the droopiness could be from that. Lift your pots to get an idea how dry they are....you'll probably go at least 2 days without watering. And lastly how strong of nutes have you given them so far?

hey bob looks like a little heat stress....make sure your light is 18 to 24inches away...i personally mount a lil 8 dollar fan upside down on the ceiling and direct it to blow right on my light so too disapate any heat my lamp generates....i run a 1000w hps ....also have a circulateing fan on the floor keeping my babys with constant airflow...and my temps never run higher than 80 with lights on..if heat is a issue cuz of summer invest in co2....your plants can run as high as 92degress safe if co2 is introduced...co2 pucks work great for the price....unless money is not a issue and u can a tank and regulator...but u can double maybe triple your harvest by using co2....also make sure your water ph is stable between 6.3 and 6.8..if u dont have a ph tester yet....only feed it distilled water till u can get one....dont overwater your plants...at that size u should be feeding them once a week...wait for the soil to completly dry before watering...at the worst the plant will tell when it needs water..leaves droop..i water...2 hrs later they are stretching towards the light at full attention......3 keys to sucess...AIR WATER LIGHT...good luck ...hope this helped

The light stays no closer than 18 inches away from the very top of the plant. I dont measure the ph, so i guess i should start doing that! im definitely not over watering, they get watered usually every 2 days, i let them dry out about 2-3 inches deep in from the top before watering. They get nutes every other watering, they are up to 3/4 strength right now.

Great info! thanks sweetleaf!.. i dont have a way to check ph right now so ill start using distilled water. I usually like to let them dry up as much as possible before watering, i usually have to water themm 2-3 times a week.. specifically, the Diablo OG, its very sensitive to dryness and will droop its leaves quickly.

Also, ive read some threads about DIY co2 bottles. Do you think that would be enough to do? I dont have a huge budget right now.

I'd say either 3/4 strength might be a little too strong right now OR your ph is off. Go to wal-mart or almost any stores with pool/aquarium supplies and you can get the Ph Dip Sticks or the Ph Test Solution pretty cheap. you'll at least have an idea what PH range you are in. For now I'd skip the next feeding, try to get something for PH, then go back to half strength and slowly go up each feeding. good luck man
