Another update. Day 27 from seed. I will start flowering this saturday. How do they all look? I had PH problems but I took care of them with a tester and some PhUP & PhDown.

next harvest i will, but for now just trying to sex a few females to clone from. don't want to waste time with potential males....

yea i know..... i tried my girl's 7.2 megapixel camera and it wouldnt zoom in clear enough, so...... i see something at the node, but can't tell what it is yet. at the top of each branch they are lightening up in the center resembling a preflower, but other than that, i have nothing definate to go by yet. typically males will grow faster and taller, so if i went be that i would say 4 of 6 are female. the 4 shorter ones are also the plants that are resembling preflowers at the tops.

My from-the-hip guess is that CFL's don't have quite the oomph that HIDs have, so the plant can't use as much food.

Try maybe pretending you're a week behind where you actually are for feeding schedual, ie. feed them less, starting later, ramping up slower.

Looking pretty good regardless.

Since you're pots may be larger than you think you need (by the first post, prolly outdated info by now), perhaps try letting the medium dry almost completely before giving it another feeding...force those roots to seek and uptake all available food before giving it more.

ok, sooooo..... the two taller plants have both popped out a few sets of pistils, but i'm a little worried that they may be growing pollen sacks as well..... :-(

. one of the medium sized ones i should know tomorrow, and the other 3 a few more days i guess.... i don't have a good enough camera to take pics that zoomed in to post.

still got my fingers crossed!!!!

my cabinet is definately lightproof! and its in a closet that i dare not enter during sleep time. i think the problem was the seeds.... bagseed.... :cuss:

all the seeds were from 1 bag of supposed greencrack. i think the original plant was a hermie and therefore enhancing the possibility of its offspring being hermies as well.

i just got a few more seeds from some dank i got yesterday. 1 was "The little plant that could" and the other was "OG Kush Old Gold".... whatever the fuck thats supposed to mean. To me? not a damn thing. i just want some good nug, call it what you will. so regardless im skeptical on even trying these ones. think im gonna have to find a way to get some feminized. i live in CA, have yet to obtain my card, so the med-centers are not an option for me. you think a 2 hour car ride will be too long for some clones? not only does the car ride suck, i'll have to go through a checkpoint on my way home. "Do you have any produce or live plants in your vehicle? Citizenship?" is what i'll be asked. hahahah its kinda funny, not too worried bout that though. just more worried bout the car ride.

I have a couple Sativa dominant as well as a couple Indica dominant plants growing in their 9th week of Veg. I'm aware that Sativa's take longer to mature, but it looks like it's showing signs of pre flower. There are small pitcher - like structures with 2 white hairs coming out of them. Just curious becuase it's my 1st grow, im inexperienced but I've done my homework and I have a couple theories but I'd just really like some feedback from some more experienced growers. Happy growing all

white hairs are a great sign. wish i had some of those. there are several ways of predetermining the sex of your plant. check out the faq's, general growing, sexing section. sounds like your grow is going good. take some pics, start a thread, list your setup specs and let us all help you with your grow. good luck!

I use "cleat sockets" (smaller but more expensive), not the "candelabra sockets", you can get them from lowes for about $3.50 each, but you gotta run the wiring to each socket.

if you make a square frame ( 2-3 inches less than your interior perimeter ) using 1x4's on edge, you can then screw the cleat sockets in horizontally on the inside of your frame where you want them, run your wire to your power source and you're set. thats how im gonna redo my upper lights when i get a chance. hope that helps you. i can make you drawings if you need....

i think it was like $130 for 13 sockets, 16 bulbs, 100' wire, 3 switches and 4 electrical boxes.

Ok sooooo..... things arent looking too bad at all i guess. in the begining i told myself only expect 1 female if im lucky. then i read all these other posts where people were gettin about 75% females and got my hopes up... so ive reverted back to my original hopes of 1 female.

So far I've seperated 2 hermies from the rest, theyre in a different room, leaving 4 plants. The largest plant is out of control and i had to tie it down, it is showing preflowers but im concerned with a little new growth i saw this morning.

The other 3.... girls!!! yay!! i've bested my hopes and am a happy person. i'll keep the hermies outside for a few days, until i know whats for sure with the last plant in question. if its female, i'll keep it and take the 2 hermies up to the mountains and plant them and whatever happens to them happens.

oh yea, i had 5 of my 13 cfls @ 6500k, 3 on top 1 on the left and 1 on the right. I switched out the left and right bulbs with 2700k's. So its now: 10 - 2700k 3 -6500k all 23watts.

ill get pictures up later when i can.
