alright, so i know it's common for leaves to yellow near the end of flower, but i'm in my 4th week of actual flowering. these pics were taken a few days ago, but she hasn't changed much..

background info:

age at time of pics: week 10 from sprout, week 6 since 12/12, week 4 of flower
strain: unknown bagseed
soil: miracle grow african violet, pearlite, sphagnum peat moss & lime (2:1:1:'a sprinkle', respectively)
water/schedule: RO water, ph's @ ~6.5-7 (drop kit)..every 2-4 days, depending on weight of container. run off pH's ~5.0/~155 ppm

i did do 5 very light feedings with miracle grow cactus food (2-7-7) in the first two weeks of flower. each was 1/3 or less of recommended dosage. i've since switched to just water, i was worried about burning them. the buds are continuing to grow well, trichomes are developing, just have the yellowing leaves and some weird spotting. i'm not sure what's going..

the chunk missing is due to an unfortunate encounter with one of the exhaust fans....only spot on the plant with these rust spots

these leaves fell off when i touched them:

any thoughts? it's my first grow, and i know miracle grow isn't ideal. it's what i could get locally and it has been working well until now. i've been holding off on flushing, since from what i understand, it will only put out more of the time release nutes in the soil. is it possible that this is just normal? the budsites still appear to be growing and developing well..i had been initially thinking it's a nitrogen def, but i'm kind of leaning towards a pH problem, too acidic, since that could potentially lock out nitrogen? i think? how can i accurately test the pH of my soil? if my water pH's at ~7, and it's coming out ~5, wouldn't that mean the soil would actually be less than 5, to get the runoff water to get that low? since i was using such a small quantity of soil, i wasn't sure the exact measure to use of the lime, so i just kind of ballparked it, knowing that it only said to use ~1 tblspn/gallon (i think? something like that...) of soil. so i knew i shouldn't need very much. maybe i didn't use enough? i dunno..any advice would be greatly appreciated. :joint:

That's nitrogen deficiency. You need to add more fertilizer.

Go buy yourself some Botanicare Pro Bloom, Liquid Karma and CalMag and follow the directions. Your buds will taste a million times better than using Miracle Grow.

Don't flush your plants until you know they are just about done.

i don't have ANY hyrdro/grow shops around me. i suppose any high N fert would do? i'd rather not have to order any online..

IMO you already figured it out. With your runoff testing so low your as you said locking out the N. Raise your future watering a bit maybe to 7.7 and add some N like Stinkbud stated above. next time around change your soil recipe and do a runoff test before you plant. See where your at and adjust your ph ahead of time. Good luck and Happy Growing!

i did do a run off test before planting and it was ~7..i'll try raising the pH of the water, but from what i understand, the soil buffers the pH, and aside from adding lime there's not much i can do. and even then, it takes some time for the lime to really get into the soil. since i've got maybe another month or so, i'm hoping just raising the pH of the water can bring it up a little bit if that's the case. i'm glad my diagnosis seems to be being confirmed..hopefully next time i'll be able to get some better soil. for my first time at it, miracle grow as been pretty easy to work with to be honest
