First Grow!

Well I've started my first grow and I'm just over a month into and my plants are looking good, so I decided I'd start posting some pics and get some input from the RUI community. My growspace is a 2' X 4' closet with 8-23watt CFL's. The walls are covered with the backside of metallic wrapping paper and I've got a 6inch fan for circulation and a 10inch fan connected to a dryer duct for exhaust into the attic. :leaf:Just flipped the timer to 12/12, my plants are gonna get their first long nights rest tonight. Looking forward to seeing how many are female!:leaf: I'll get some more pics up when they start showing sex. Post away!

Well I'm a week and a half into flowering and some of them are starting to show their sex. My tallest plant turned out to be male and one of my solo cups was also, soo I chopped them down yesterday and used the leaves for some organic fertilizer. But on the up side one of my bigger plants has some nice white hairs sprouting out:joint: I'll get some more pics up sometime in the next week or so when I've got rid of all the men folk.

you now need to get some more powerfull lights in there! or you will end up with about 10 gram wett per plant if you are lucky!

A brand new 400w HPS will only set you back $160- $200. I usually get 1 gram per 2 HPS watts, but I am still just learning. Unless you have those CFL's 2 inches away from the plants they won't be intense enough to get decent flowering. I've dropped 7 x 26 watt 2700k cfl's into my 6.5 x 6.5 grow area to help the 400w HPS and 400w MH flower 8 plants.
The 1018w for 6' x 6' is nowhere enough light. I would only recommend using CFL's for vegetating or side lighting.
Also, what is the color temp of your bulbs? Are you planning on changing them all to 2700k for flowering?
