So I'm running a 200w cfl at the moment over a few seedlings. This is my first attempt at a "real" indoor grow. I have fooled around a little bit before but nothing to serious. I've got my nutes and made my setup. I'm having an issue with holding moisture in my medium, but i just keep misting so thats no big deal. I plan on adding a fan/vent in the back cutout very soon. The seedlings that have showed look good so far, not overwatering/ over feeding so i should be alright till i move em to the MH stage! Open for opinions and suggestions please!! really important i learn about this :) thanks enjoy your day

Edit: i've made a ghetto plastic dome over my cups and misted to hold moisture in better so maybe you can image something crazy!! lol

nice, i would love to see some pics! I may just stick with cfl's all the way and screw the MH later on. Just need a bigger box!! i planted so many because i figured i would get 50/50 m/f

I've decided to turn it into a bottom water feeding type dealio. maybe it would hold moisture alittle better. feeding from the ground up. got the domes rockin so lets see how it holds up until they are big enough to go into bigger pots!

Hey Bro,

I don't like those cups for seedlings. They are porous and wick the moisture out of the soil.
I would use them as my first transplant container then place it in soil. But now I would cut
the bottoms and place them in saucers so you can bottom water them. water the saucer
and the soil will wick the water up. It will promote rapid root growth and you wont burn
your girls with spray. By spraying in early stages you can stunt the root growth because
the plant is getting foliage feedings ...... by you :wall:

The girls look great. Healthy and happy :leaf: just like they should be.
By bottom watering you get the soil to settle evenly and you train the tap root to grow down
fast. The rest will follow. If you spray be sure to spray the soil once your seedling has roots.

I use a dome and rapid rooters for both clones and seedlings. I have about 90% success with
seeds and near 100% success with clones with heat pad and dome in rapid rooters or rock wool. When using soil I germ the seeds in a napkin .... in the dome, as shown, then place in soil once tap root shows ...

yes, those type of cups were a really bad idea. when they dry up i'm going to stick em in regular party cups. other than that i like the bottom feeding better in my situation. thanks for pics! nice gloves i gotta get me some lol

Changed cups and now my setup is running nice and smooth. My medium is actually holding water like it should be doing. Doing the bottom feeding technique and they just take the water right up! Instead of the saucer idea I am just using cat liter liners and have all 9 cups in it, acts like one big saucer, and I just add enough water for all the cups. Works fine for now but i can't do that when I transplant into larger pots though, lol. Now I just need to wait 4 months ^.^ Thanks for all the help!
