First Hydro/Aeroponic Grow. Need Experienced Growers Suggestions!

These plants are about 14-18 days old right now. I had to start these from seeds.

I am running the Flora series nutrients with 1.5 cups of Gro, 1 cup Micro, 0.5 cup Bloom on initially a 30 gallon reservoir. I have since drained about 5 gallons of water out since they have developed long roots to which the jets can spray instead of just submerging the roots any longer.

The ph is about 5.7-5.8. I dont have a ppm meter at the moment.

The 48" lights i am running are 2700k flourescents, and the other two, im not sure of the spectrum, all i know is they are more purple than the 2700k.

The main problem im having is keeping the temperature in the room under control, its upstairs at my house and it stays a lot warmer up there than the main level. I have one fan that keeps plenty of air in the room moving, and i typically try to direct the air such that it moves the plants at all times. The temperature stays between about 80-90 degrees on top of the buckets (thats what that white probe is doing there) although the ambient air temperature in the room is usually 75-85. Although the temps seem high I have read that with hydroponics its not as big of a deal because the cool water keeps the plant healthy. Water temps stay about 70-75 degrees.

Humidity stays around 50%.

Currently I am running a 3 hour off on the lights to cool the room down a little.

I was wondering about hydrogen peroxide?
Height of the lights?
Are the higher temperatures going to hurt the growth?
Are the heights of the plants consistent with where they should be?
Do they appear healthy?
Does this look like a good first grow?

Thank you everyone so much in advance, this is a badass and informative forum!

Those lights should be as close as the heat will allow. high temps will hurt your growth. you either need to get your temps down or get some c02 in there. they look really healthy. I doubt you will get nearly the growth you want with those lights. i would invest in some better ones when your wallet allows. i don't use hydrogen peroxide.

What kind and wattage of light do you recommend for what I have right now?

its not what you need now but what do you want in the end. you can waste your money on a 400 watt now but eventually you will probably want something bigger. i like 600 watt lights personally. read up on lighting. you wanna run MH during veg and hps during flower, but you won't be ready to upgrade lighting until you get your heat under control. you are too hot. i recommend to anyone before you grow read a book.

Sounds like you need a cooltube lighting system. Am no expert but I think that if u stay with 6 plants u sould get a 400 watt with a 6 inch inline fan. Its not that cheep but it will fix your temp problem and give you more control = better yield. Also u should really get a pm meter seen one on ebay for 0.01 plus 10.00 for SNH.

thanks so much for your responses, but i was wondering, what is a ballast and do i need one?
you have one already for your fluorescent lights, that's whats running them. you need to read some threads dude this isn't even first day shit.

when ur ready to flower 12/12 look for some Sunlight bulbs it will help out better in the budding stage u wont harvest as much if u would be using HPS but its all a learning process bro looking good so far.

that's terrible advice. if your grow room was running 89 degrees all the time it would be detrimental. i keep it 78 during lights on and 70 during lights off. if you are going to be in the 80's all the time co2 would be needed, but before you even think about co2 you have lots to learn about lighting and cooling.

I meant to put a "switchable" ballast but i was in a hurry when i typed that. Do the pictures I have look like i havent read anything? I have studied and studied this shit for probably a month and a half now reading for hours every night. I know your an expert that enjoys belittling everyone elses efforts, but be less of a dick about it

I am growing in a spare bathroom I have. The way the ventilation is designed in this house is pretty shitty, that bathroom doesnt get really any flow through it. I am still trying to improve the cooling there and dont know what ill eventually come up with. Having to use ice at the moment (which sucks) but works.

relax bro, i'm not trying to belittle you. There is a whole mess of write ups on here meant for beginners that contain all the info you have asked about. thats why i say read up. you can get much better answers from a proper write up, than just getting quick answers to questions that have very long and multiple answers. And if you think i am being a dick you need to quit being such a softy.

Went and purchased another AC an hour ago... Soooooo much better! This is my first grow and everyday I am amazed by how much they have shot up. Hydro and aeroponics produce unbelievable results. I have read in some places to veg 24/0 and I have also read that anything above 18/6 doesn't really matter. What are your all's opinions on this? Once again these are set on a 3 hour off at the moment but that was only to help regulate temperature which I don't have to worry about now

i run 24/0 just cause i like the lights being on all the time. i have read quite a bit on this and it all pretty much just comes down to a matter of opinion. some like 18/6 to control heat, like you, or save power, or give the plant a break. others like 24/0 because they think they will get more growth out of them or just can't afford another timer.

If u get new lighst get it with elictric ballist way better then magnit ones. Also flat waite paint will cool the room down some and help spreed out the light.

I like 24/7 too its nice to wake up and see how much your plant grew from the night before. Personly that's what makes my day.

Updated pictures today. The air conditioner now keeps the room 79-81 degrees at all times :D One got nutrient burn when swapping out water, long story.. but it seems to be recouping now. It was a small one anyways. How much longer do you all think before flowering? Ive read 2-4 weeks and 4 weeks puts me at June 10th
