Does that lamp have the glass insert in it? im in awe that 1 1000w can do push the heat that high...but i think a big factor is how reflective those tents are..plus there lid hieght is restricted..like puttn on a rain suit to go running..ur on to something with making sure that fan doesnt suck its own exhaust back in2 the room..check ur cardboard rig daily on the window..IF thats a 4x8 tent u may wanna look at portable a/c units..but there spendy...u could buy 1 more identicle active air fan...mount it low in the tent..duct it thro the bottom..find another window somewhere else..buy the 25' ft of 6in flex duct u need...and blow ur cooler air in....youll be so happy one u can get to the 80's then u gotta work on gettn to the 60-70's or at least have the capibility to get it down to those temps..good luck bro

im with TM... get a portable a/c.. you cant run the exhaust duct from that near the tent exhaust... the only other thing i can think of is get a larger exhaust fan... or another one... the more air you pull out the cooler it will be... with your setup your really pretty limited... try an 8" exhaust fan... sunleaves has an inline exhaust fan, like yours, thats 650 cfm and is only 217.00... wormsway.com has them or you might find them somewhere else.. worms way is great.. but they are sorta pricey.. they also have a 6" fan that is 409cfm for 182.00... just gotta pull more air outta there is all.... if you get a portable a/c you should leave it outside of the tent and run the exhaust duct from the ac into the exhaust duct for the fan so it exhaust outside.. not only will it make your room cooler but it will make the passive intake air cooler... and the also since the outside of the tent is cooler it will help cool down the tent a few degrees too...

yAH just like that ..cool ur passive air off..and youll be able to sleep much , much better. i have the same struggle bro trust that.. my garage is like the sarengeti desert right now..but that because ive got the traditional a/.c venting right into there...so the op sucks that hot air in passivly..but if i had the money id ditch that a/c unit go with portable...and tie in2 my venting..so just cool air..no hot air being drawn in to system..like i said my situaition is very similiar with heat..altho ive managed to control it in my op, jsut not my garage outside the op. ive been really leaning on these so called chillers. dont quiet understand how there differnt from split a/c units..but ive seen plenty on u tube..with people burned 5-20 lamps in a sealed room with no venting..and just a chiller..so im very interested...bein u can lose the air cooled hoods..but also remember if u can air cool ur hoods, with a 700cfm fan rated at say 9 amps and less then a 500watts ..ur doin ur self a big justice over a./c...and chillers..which produce more electrical cost than a series of hid lamps.. if any1 know a shit load about wut chillers exactly are vs a/c please pm me or hit me up at my link..good luck Dj weeks hit me up if u need ne thing

ive been saying it for over a week, if your room temp is under 85f you can keep the temps fine with more exhaust. and i also agree with the portable unit

ya i have the glass insert on the hood and a thermal blanket! i got a 6.5 x 6.5 x 6.5 tent, its white in the interior to reflect the light (i dont know if the mylar is better or this white film???) TM i wish i could get it 70F 24/7 lol, that would be the shit. o and theres no other window near by unfortunatley! (but dude were about to move to another house and im building a 15x20 detached outhouse just for me and my ladies to grow peacefully! i cant wait waiting for the keys to the house and then im building away!) well a new inline fan and a portable ac are about the same price! which one should i get??? a fan which would be cheap on the bill or a ac thats guaranteed to get it cold but pay an extra $100 a month for it to run????? idk but im willing to do something i want it cold expecially since were coming into the summer and its just getting hotter outside! i havent heard nothin bout the chillers but if i do ill let you know. thanks

wat do you mean i cant run the ac duct that close to the tent exhaust? ya if i got a ac thats wat i planned on doing just throw it in my bedroom near the tent and exhasut it out the window and cool my room and have the passive intake suck the cooler air in the tent! or would it be better to throw it in the tent and exhasut it out the window??? should i get 2 inline or one big inline or a portable ac???????? i know with a ac ill be paying a lot more for pge but its guarnteed to get it cooler, but you think if i get another fan or a big ass one it will do the trick, wats your guys output? thanks

its like 85 - 95 normally, sometimes hotter, its gotten up to 102F. so do you think i should get another fan or one big fan and that will cool it enough or should i get a portable ac and pay more on pge but guaranteed to be cooler in there wats your guys output and advice, im wanting to do something asap!! thanks

thank you everyone

i meant can... not cant.. just s typo.. ima stoner sometimes...

in my humble opinion, get another 6 or 8 inch incline exhaust fan and add that as an extra exhaust for now... reason being... if you are going to move and build another area that big the portable a/c wont help then.. but you can always reuse a fan... set it up to suck more air out and vent it outside like the other!

hmmm i really think that 300cfm fan will work fine as the exhaust..its sucking that room off trust me..i can see a 6x6 area especially one with a 6 foot lid gettn that hot def.. hmm id say if u can afford the a/c get it...then immediatly throw it in the tent...and exhaust out the window like u say..then after 24 hours of monitering temps...pull it out of the tent, run it in the room outside the tent for 24hrs..and moniter temps..play with the settings as well for another series of tests..ur gonna have to fab its schedule around ur environment.

hmmm very true about moving..for a 20x15 ur gonna need a HUGe exhaust fan..or something much bigger then the portable that would suit ur tent

well im gonna buy one more tent and have 2 of these tents side by side for veg/clone and then a flowering one! so it would be a total of 500 cubic feet of space between the 2 to cool! not my whole 15 x 20 room sorry guys i didnt mean that lol its gonna be my bedroom too lol! so buy a big 6inch or 8 inch and run it as a exhaust too and put the ducting right above the hood and out the window??? an ac to cool my tent or room would be atleast $400 plus running on 9 amps that would be like $80 - $100 a month plus i would have to get a heavy gauge 100 ft extension and have a cord throughout the house cuz right now i only have a 15amp breaker until i move out in a couple months hopefully! i wont buy a ac right now cuz when i move out i should have central air just for that room im gonna build and i will duct it right into the tents :)

you may still need the a/c with the extra exhaust fan... its hard saying... you pulling that much air out of the room and keeping it out it should definatly make a huge dent in the problem for sure... i would sit it on the other side of the light, so one fan is on each side of the light, but exhaust it out the window like the other... its at least a cheaper way to try to fix the problem, and reusable... but either way it sounds like we hopefully have probably got things fixed for you...

glad your girls are looking good!! you should start seeing a lot of growth every day over the next few weeks... pretty much 75% of the actual bud will be produced over the next 3 weeks... its amazing... youll love it... definatly take care of your flowering mother.. she'll yield you good... what kind of light does your friend have?? is there any way you can tie branches or stake them to make more room?? and i feel for you with the thrips... nothing is worse than an infestation in your grow room... im pulling for ya for sure!

i know he should get a 1000 watter but its going to be in a 2 x 5 ft closet so i think ill get a 600 watter for the momma! i dont want to deal with heat with a 1000! the 14 other plants in 5 gallons are taking up all the room inj the tent, so theres no more room for the big ol momma unfortantely! i can get a different hood to widen the spectrum of the light correct??? i read up on the radiant ac hood and it seems to have a narrow light spectrum coming form the hood! can i get a different hood to widen the spectrum of light to take full potential of the whole tent! well sorry for pics ill post them tonight, they looken good! i think i spotted a few amber hairs this morning in a couple of the bg's

i think by light spectrum you mean foot print?? basically the more of an angle the reflector sides are at the larger the footprint... if you get a reflector with sides that are flared more you can cover more of the tent floor with the foot print...

glad you are starting to see some pistil change starting.. im loving the amount i am seeing myself!

good lookin girls! from the pics i see you have a TON of budding sites! very nice... do you have room to seperate the girls a little?? if they feel choked for space they wont bud to their fullest potential.. if you give them some space you will see even better results than you will now! if you are worried about the light just rotate the plants every day or two.. this will make sure they are all getting even light.. thats if you have the space tho..

keep it up bro!

those are some fresh genetics bro they have great structure and good growth!! the heat doesnt seem to have destroyed anything but i can guarantee they will enjoy a lower temp closer to 80

i have space in my tent, shit im really only using like half of the tent! the footprint of the light isnt that wide tho! so your say spread them all out like 6 inches between each pot just so they arnt really touching up on eachother and shit correct! so ill do that and move them around everynight so they all get a chance to be under the lgiht! what hood do you recoomend for a wider footprint??? if you guys look up a radiant hood its like a straight narrow beam of lgiht, small footprint! so next grow or comign up here soon i mgiht wanna get a new hood so i can take full advantage of my 1000 watts for all the plants, here in a few weeks im gonna be starting to veg 40 clones and switch them into flower at about 10 - 12 inches so hopefully when there done tere only 2 feet with 4 main colas
