looks good. so, you see the white socket for the bulb at the left of your pic there? Is it possible to flip the light around and extend a short piece of ducting to attach to that, to pull air directly over the bulb and into the tubing?

thats an idea i might have to look into even with this new venting system and an oscilating fan i am getting 90 F. the fan has a CFM of 500 but you turn it so it blows outside and pulls from the inside? thats what i did, i figured itd pull more heat out than it is. i am thinking that once flowering starts ill have to cycle the light at night instead of the day for heat. i shut the room off and left everything for an hour and the temp is at 92 F its not workin out.

wow that's warm.

yeah, sucking out is the way to go. if the fan is that hot, you can put it inline at the end of the ducting instead, either outside or close to it.

ive came to the conclusion that you cant skimp on some things. i am going to the local grow shop tommorow and looking for a new reflector with a 6" coolable vent. if it cost no more than $130 ill pick it up. this should reduce the heat enough to not need to worry about it? i dont want to put in another 130 and still have problems... i am too deep into this now to half ass it and come back to wilted/dead plants. ahhhh

*so i just realized that the lamp socket is attached to the ballast. i am no electrician and i am not going to cut cables to wire a new reflector...... htgsupply has a euro reflector which looks like it would just swap out for the socket i have now for $100, could have just upgraded orginally for $59.... life lessons blow.

well, the socket change out is really trivial, but at least you're comfortable saying you don't want to do it.

i really think you should try just temporarily mounting the fan much closer to the hood so that it forces flow straight through the thing and see if that does much before you go for another complete setup. that's going to cost on shipping.

where is the passive intake for the box? I assume it's sealed? if it's too tight, you'll not be sucking as much as you'd like.

fucking summer my temps still get up to 92 degrees still! does anyone know anything that is light proof but lets heat out? like some kind of cloth or material?

Maybe you can use the stuff covering speakers... You know the black mesh stuff that goes on the frot of the old house speakers....

So Ive finally been able to sex them and I got pretty lucky with 7/7 being female. I think I am going to have to chop one because there is just not enough light though...:? nothing else I can do. Started using Earthjuice Bloom, looking forward to seeing some nice bud spots soon. Such a long process...

i swear when your doing a grow theres something to do everyday besides watering. theres always something to fix or improve. anyways, things are going alright i cant get my light any higher and plants are pretty much touching so now thats something else to work on. all have buds and i am pretty stoked this will be better than christmas morning.

well, i would start by taking a string and attaching it between the second to last and last nodes, and then attaching that string to the main stalk about 1/3 of the way down, to make an upside-down "J". If it responds well, you could continue the bend into a loop. It would probably then help to tie it to the pot somehow.

Anyway, just an idea. The first step would really help with your height issues. If you're going to try it, it should be sooner rather than later. Just a modified LST.

my light has been going out for some reason ive caught it twice now. my light turns on at 8 and by 8:30 its out for some reason and all you can hear is the light trying to turn on. after i let it cool off i plug it in again and it goes for the rest of the 12 hours. i dont know whats going on i dont think the bulb is getting to hot its hooked up to an 8" coolable system and everything else is on the same timmer and they stay on. i am not sure what to do this is screwing me over and if there have been times that ive missed it then i dont know what my plants could be going through.
