First LED Grow

Growing 5 plants (3 charles kush, 1 afghan, 1 cindy 99) under 3 180 w LED's w/ 3w diodes from advanced LED's. Using all coco growing medium w/ 20% perlite and dynagro nutrients. Also have a 400w HID that i keep above that comes on for a few hours during the 12 hr cycle, since the three lights currently don't cover the whole canopy. Does anyone else have experience using LED's? so far mine are looking great, but haven't finished this grow yet and there isn't too much good info out there on the topic.

looks solid to me. may be able to bring the lights closer to the plants but it doesn't look absolutely necessary, you have a lot of led power in there

Tight setup, plants are nice and perky. Those leds are interesting I want to try and get some myself. Let us know how your end product turns out. :eyesmoke:

definately interested in led's what sort of heat do they put out? good for tight spaces id say. wonder what the spectrums like

My 450w panel puts off less heat than the 400w hps ballast, and far far less than the light itself. It gets warm to the touch, but that's about it. A bunch might warm a tent up pretty high if you have no ventilation whatsoever.

But, if you add the same cooling you would use for a single 1000w hps light, you could toss 3000-4000w of LED in the same room and keep it nice.

flipping expensive led lights i'll wait till the price drops, but im definately interested in this grow, pulling up the couch on this one.

Been a while since i checked back in, that grow was very successful, i yielded 1.3 lbs from the 5 plants (1 was in a 1 gal). I'm currently flowering in a new grow of some blue dream, used LED's the whole time, and have higher expectations this round

Two purple pics are my current blue dream grow, the other budding plant is a Charles Kush from the last grow i initially posted about.

That is almost 4 ounces per plant. Pretty darn high production.

I finished that grow, with the 4 blue dream and 2 purple haze. I yielded 1.33 LBS again, and tried to shorten my veg time to allow more light penetration. Check out my current grow in my blog and another post, going with 12 chemdawg, co2 treatment, and twice the tent size and more than twice the lights.

I'm also doing a Coco & LED grow. I have 2 plants under a 3w 180watt panel. Do you think this is enough light? Plants seem to be loving it now, but I've been thinking about maybe getting a 90w ufo or some smaller LED grow spotlights to help during flowering. What do you guys find is a good watt to plant ratio with 3w LEDs? thanks
