first lowryder grow a disaster

well the 9 little ones that i planted about 2 weeks ago just weren't growing that hot. and 4 didnt even make it through the ground. they were in MG organic. And under 4 cfl lights. Im not really sure what happened. they were doing ok and then a couple days ago they just looked like death. and now I dont think they will make it. The water in the little pots dried ridiculously fast cause the room is at 40% humidity and the natural pots soak the water up. but i was good with keeping them moist.

now i just germinated the other 20 seeds i had and 19 have really healthy long roots. so im going to try rock pellets instead while i get some foxfarm soil. and some ph balancing shit.

here are some pics. any tips? what did i do wrong?

They look burned to hell. Were you giving them fertilizer? Tip #1 - get rid of the Miracle Grow shit. It sucks. Go with the FoxFarms. Tip #2 - no nutes until the plants are at least 2 weeks old, better yet, 3 weeks old. Tip #3 - don't water them until the soil is completely dry. Tip #4 - don't let the tap-root grow so big while the seeds are in the paper towels. As soon as the seeds pop open and you've got about 1cm of root poking out, put them in the dirt, root-side down.

Don't be discouraged... get some new seeds and try again. You'll eventually figure it all out :-D

theres nothing wrong with Miracle Grow..please dont be dumb..it just look like u gave them nutes and bruned them...come just tell us its ok..good thing u have more beans

Saying there's nothing wrong with Miracle Grow is just ignorant. There are many, many other choices that are far superior to Miracle Grow. Yes, you can use it and get a decent crop, but for most marijuana growers, especially newbies, Miracle Grow represents a whole series of potential problems that could be easily avoided by making a better choice. And there's no reason to call me dumb. I'm not here to fight with anyone or get into a flame war. I'm here to share my experiences with others and learn from people with knowledge. There's no reason to resort to petty name-calling and animosity.

it does look like nute burn...seedlings never get fed nutes...wait about 3 weeks before u start feeding seedlings...and hey...a lot of growing is trial and error...especially when ur just starting out...if at first u dont succeed...germ more seeds! lol i had 3 seeds that popped in paper towel...but once i got them in the soil they never grew...so i took 3 new seeds, and just dropped them in damp soil without germinating at all...and voila! i had 3 baby sprouts pop out of the soil 3 days later...lol. its all one big experiment as far as im concerned...shits bound to go wrong...dont worry...we've all been there! lol

ok here we go.. 1st saying "get rid of the Miracle Grow shit. It sucks. Whatever bro... if you do any amount of research on the topic, you'll find numerous reasons not to use MG. Even their "organic" mix contains nutrients, and those nutes are NOT organic. And as far as me being narrowminded... well that's just not true. I give everything a try, and see what works and what doesn't first-hand. I've been growing weed for over 10 years and know from first-hand experience that some stuff works well, and some stuff doesn't work so well. And some stuff will work, but requires a lot of tweaking and experimentation to get it right.

ok then please tell us of ur "research on the topic" and please do tell us of "the numerous reasons not to use MG" this is someting i whould like too know because i use MG.. i hope ur research is'nt from RIU...;-):lol::bigjoint:

First of all this is a thread about a dude's plants, not an argument about whether MG is good for weed or not. Second, the Organic MG is too strong for any lowryder that early in the cycle. Lowryders are known for not tolerating nutes and even the "organic" MG has too many, and your plants are evidence of this. They're completely burnt out but thats part of growing like many others have said. I know my first grow didnt go well.

grow up man, this site is to help others, not argue about, who is right & who is wrong

btw I had added NO nutes. only water.

You must have PH problems (or toxic soil) because it looks like nutrient burn. If your soil was not unusual check your water. Some towns have water with a really high PH because it makes led pipes less dangerous. So you may need to PH your water to 6.0

hey bro..did u have to grem new seeds??? if not how did u get them in to rockwool??? and yeah they grow pretty crazy i gremed my auto ak x hindu kush..and those fuckers took off:o!!! there faster then i thought..its amazing..good luck with ur plants..:peace::blsmoke:

yeah dude I germed new seeds. 19 of em! the 20th was a dud. and while i was planting them into the rockwool ( just made holes in it and shoved em in there carefully) i found a seed in my friends bag of headies! so I planted it and we will see if it germs and what it is! I think I may have overwhlemed my closet. I bought 4 more 23 watt cfl's today. and plan to have one for each plant. Im about to make a post about my homemade cool tubes though. keep an eye out!

thanks everyone! now growing happily in foxfarm ocean forest and ph balanced water!
