First official indoor grow (that's succeeding). CFL

Okay so here we go,
I have this plant I started from a seed I found in this bud we call lemon pepper. Anyways, I started the seed out on May 8th ans plants the sprouted seeding on the 12th. There are a few siblings outside but this one I am prizing for the simple fact that she(hopefully) was the tallest, fattest, and furthest ahead.
Right now I am using soil that retains moisture until the plant needs it, some sand, peat moss, gravel bottom. I just transplanted yesterday into a one gallon pot and added small straces of ferts (like 2 pinches in a .75gal worth of soil.
I take her out during warm days so that the heat from the lights and the attic don't bring her down. So far I am past the 1 leaf set, 3 leaf set, 2- 5 leaf sets and on a 7 set now. The smaller secondary nodes are pushin through, once they get a little bigger I can see them start to boom. Leaves as you can see are primarily wide with smoother jags on them. The plant doesn't really smell unless it's disturbed and let's off a nice aroma.
The lights are simple, cords spliced for 2 double fixtures, an overhead floro, and a single fixture on the side. The lights are all 23watt, (1656 lumens per bulb), I bought them from goodwill for $.50 a piece and i had a limit of 6 per person :/ 5 cool light and 1 warm for vegetation stage. The overhead floro is simply to keep her from getting too tall (I like em short fat an bushy so it seems to help out).
Water's pH is slightly acidic (around 6.1 and 6.3), runoff pH hasn't been tested yet. Although the root systems looked very healthy and evenly spread so I assume the soil is fine. The only leaves that seem to have damage are the lowest leaves with only 1 prong. Just some fert burning but nothing to bad, I have flushed her out since this so no worries.

Well guys and gals, tell me what I can do and what I shouldn't, comments questions and criticism please.
P.s. This is week 3 If you count the spouting age, if you only count the veg age it's been about 2 weeks.

I'm trying to fin ways to speed her up a little. I want to try and get this done within a 70 day time frame but I hear the longer she sits the better it is. I guess good things do come with age :/

I see a little seedling I see on the side of the pot with your big plant in it, personally I'd kill it just to make sure its roots don't impact the roots on the real plant

check out the "ghetto grow from hell" you will see that plants growing in one tote or bin isn't as much of an issue as people think(think of the proximity of plants in nature the ones that stick together develop strong almost immovable roots, single lone wolfs get blown down by stronger winds, strength in numbers). that guys grow is housed here on this forum in the cfl section check it out!!!! you dont need to kill the little baby you can early transplant and keep it growing in its own smaller pot just, saying dont waste what the good lord has given you to grow. seeds ain't free!!!!(in most cases not including bag seed... those are merely lucky breaks!!!) not to mention what if you dont have all females you kill the baby before you know and it could be a good female. one must always be aware of his or her unnecessary waste in order to maximize potential!!!!! just saying

oh yea and for the main reason why I came over to this thread, gotta give love to the OP Nice grow man!!! keep up the good work for sure!

update

So some stats and a few issues for the update I know it's only been a few days but she is fluctuating here. I have come to realize it's not all about the time.... It is obviously an art of patients and the longer you give it the better the outcome. I have added fan power since last update and the stems are showing great response. The main stem looks to be about twice as sturdy and the plant stabilized nicely. Last water was done in two sessions an hour apart. First round had small traces of nutes in it (explained further on), and the second round was used as plain distilled water as to help with a little flush in case of over powering.
Herby (buds name) reacted to the the first round of nutes badly, I think she is still way to small so we'll keep from that for a while. Flushed and then placed her back in the cubby for the light. Steady breeze is goin so I can get her dried out nicely. Still on 12/12 by the way

1 month mark:


Little bit after her flush, stems are getting better and she is bulking up nicely. Stems are not red don't worry, under naked eye she has a beautiful purple going through her. On the right you can see the worst of the burnage, lowest leaves were removed when first signs of the burns occurred.

I seriously hate reading posts to understand the progress;

Flowers won't come until they are mature.
From seed, a plant is called a "seedling" until about two weeks, when it has sufficient roots in place and the plant starts pumping out aboveground growth.
After this, it is "vegetative" where the first pre-flowers appear after about 3-6 weeks.
The plant cannot start flowering at all until it's 6-8 weeks old from seed.
This is about 56 days, or two months.

After that, flowering is usually about 8-16 weeks, lower for indicas and higher for sativas.
Basically, if that's an indica (looks like it) it will be about 100 days if you rush things.

Could vary based on so many factors it's basically impossible to tell.

Were the brown spots yellow before turning brown? If so it could be Mag deficiency

Looking nice! Just a few things

That looks like Mag deficiency on the lower leaves, and that's where it starts. If you started in a peat moss-based soil and you're adding water that acidic (you want it at 6.5-6.8 for soil), your baby is going to have trouble absorbing micro/macronutrients, and cal/mag is one of the first that you'll spot. In fact, magnesium gets locked out at any pH of 6.4 and below - which is why it's crucial to get that pH up. Do you know if the soil you used had any dolomite lime in it to buffer the acidity? Also, I'd look into ph'ing your water.

The lights are perfectly fine, but are you thinking about putting up any reflective material? That'll really help maximize those lumens and get that light shining on your plant.

Edit: in the newer pics it looks like they're in a room with white-painted walls? That would be better than the original pics.

I don't think It is magnesium deficiency because I had added nutes to the water, remember?

I am pretty sure that it was nute burn. Now the only issue is, I think it is becoming nutrient lockout because it started with the 3 blade leaves and has progressed through to my 5's... there are only 2 five prong leaves and quite a bit new seven blade foliage which I am looking forward to showing you guys tomorrow morning when I get the cam up and some nice lighting.

C.Indica, I have read a bit of lit on 12/12ing from seed, yes I know that the flowers will not be produced until she is ready but they will grow stout and bushy that way. Yes, it causes stress and may lead to hermaphrodites or males but good experience means taking risks and making mistakes along the way right? Thank you though

I owe you one, it ended up being the mag... Sorry I doubted lol. I didn't avoid ferting her this time now that I know. I realized you were right when I was the crack in the soil and figured it must have been from moving the pot and snapping roots. She is amazing now and is starting to really node up. I am throwing pics on today when I start her lighting.

Update!!!
I started LSTing her a little more and have topped her. Once I saw the preflowers I decided to top her so that she will bulk up on the budding. How does she loko and is there anything else I need to do while I am at it???

I am thinking of adding her to a three gallon pot after she has dried a little and can be removed. Any thoughts on that before I do so?

sub'd. good to see a nice 12/12 in progress. im thinking about trying it when i switch my my grow over to 12/12.

Nutes are very diluted (20-30-20). More preflowers have arrived today and she was switched to a 5 gallon bucket instead of 3. The stressing is a lot less than you would think. I had topped after a few days of LST so she is stressed but not like "Holy fug nuts I need a cig and a tonic". The soil is used to repot was Miracle grow mixed with worm castings and aged compost from the side yard.
Thanks for the compliment on the Tat, I have an Identical blue one on the other side. I'd take a pic but I kinda need one of my arms to do so.
Oh, and seeing as this plant is my lil baby, I decided to share her with my new... ahem drum roll... Fiancee. We got engaged last friday for a March wedding.
Fun fun. But once again guys keep up the questions comments and concerns.... This may turn out hella bad but it's green thumb experience XD
