First Operation, advice.

Hey, 18 year old aussie here! My best friend has a small empty house next to his. They own it, but it's kinda old and the house they have is already huge so it's never used. It's totally fenced off and you cant see in there. There's 2 small rooms, then two big rooms connected. (Small about 3mx3m and big 3mx5m.). The house is in fairly good condition. You wouldn't want to sleep in there, but it has working electronics and water supply.

I've recently made a pc grow and want something bigger. We've already grown outdoor last year in this same spot, just out the front. My friends parents are cool with weed and they smoke. His dad even helped us harvest the plants. The neighbor seems very cool too.

If I'm going to do this it would likely be a join operation between my best 3 friends and I, (this particular friends house is our mutual hang out). We will all be putting in a few hundred dollars and we want to get great results.

My question is, how many lights? I want to buy two for veg and flowering rooms so we can alternate. How many watts should I get? and what type? I was considering led's for veg and cfl's for flower. But now I'm considering MH for veg and HPS for flower. How many volts for mh/hps to yield normally? Thinking maybe 600W.

Sorry about wall of text. ;) :leaf:

Do lots and lots of reading...thats the best advice. How much do you want to yield? How often? Perpetual grow is the way to go imo. I would look into t5 for vegging, they do a great job and are alot cheaper than leds. Oh ya and i would bet on a lot more than a few hundred dollars each. The most expensive part of a grow is the initial setup, not too expensive after that. Good luck, have fun and be safe

I've been reading so much! Thanks for the tip about the T5, never heard of it. I'll be sure to check it out. In regards to the set up cost, I agree, that's what I keep telling my friends! You don't think it would be enough? 300 x 4 = $1200. I've been looking on ebay religious, I've been 600 hps/mh kits for around $300 and 90w led's for $120. That plus the cost of fans, soil, ducting, cables. I already have a lot of stuff though. I suppose it might cost more but we can buy stuff as we progress.
