First organic grow with scrog net.

Hey guys/ladies. At the 6ish week of flower with Canuck dosi-dos(left) and wedding cake(right). I’m still new and tried a scrog this run but I digress. My question is: is it normal for the larger fan leafs to start to yellow and die off at this stage in the time line. 470B302D-B27B-4324-AFBF-49450DBBA803.jpeg

I have well water that runs with a pretty constant ph of 6.5-6.8. Grow medium 10gal fabric pots with a living soil I made with Earth Dust organic dry Nutrients (base and boost)

I just top dressed with the boost a week and a half ago. When I I flipped to 12-12 I had made a tea from half base/boost and bubbles it up for 24hrs.

The earth dust has ewc in it I think. Would that help carry them through flower if I too dressed with them? Or better to make a shit tea?

Top dressing ewc gives microbial life to start breaking down the organic matter so the roots can absorb. Also gives a lil readily available nutes to the soil. If you're doing a living soil, you should keep a mulch layer to keep the top of the soil moist and full of microbial life. The top of mulched, living soil, is where all the breaking down of your top dressed amendments happens. That being said, plants in living soil are able to pick and choose what nutrients they absorb, so it could be senescence.

ok phew. I read canook and got scared.
Promix is not a base without extra inputs. Here’s what I do and it works well for the microbes.
3.5 g promix hp
2.5 g fresh quality earth worm castings.
1.5 g pumice or perlite

thats 1cf (7.5G)
Then you want to use your amendments in the right ratio.

Before I potted up I mixed up the mix with my earth dust amendments and let it cook for 2weeks to create a microbial network. Keeping damp and dark. Had a nice little colony on top

Just cause the product contains microbes it doesn’t bring the true value of high end castings. The humus content in castings create a healthy environment for soil food web, not just the beneficials. Trust me when I say this. The castings are the 100%most vital aspect of your organic living soil. No questions or debate it’s just the way it is.
If you want dank buds. Green healthy growth whole cycle just use castings. :)

Going through the ingredients it seems like they added fish meal in there too. My aquarium fish food is made out of fish meal, with kelp to boot, ... lol.

Salmon, Whole Herring, Wheat Germ, Wheat Flour, Whole Shrimp, Pea Protein, Rice Bran, Kelp, Wheat Gluten, Astaxanthin, Canthaxanthin, Marigold Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Monophosphate (Source of Vitamin C), Niacin, Inositol, Folic Acid, Biotin, Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin A Acetate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement.

Anything in there that would be detrimental to the "Living Soil"? Oops...found it.. Potassium Sorbate. Don't use aquarium food for your grow.

Jokes aside, I'm on my first grow with Earth Dust the same as the OP here, and think that with some strains that it might just be normal to get some yellowing here and there close to harvest. And hopefully you followed directions and topped dressed before flipping to flower and one more topping 4 weeks into flowering. With EWC for good measure of course. Member here convinced me to go with Earth Dust this session, photos of his last grow were AMAZING. And the word is the (no till) soil doesn't really hit it's full potential till the third grow with it. Just gets better it seems like.

It gets yellow because you're not keeping up with feeding them. Organics take awhile to break down, so it's not as easy as chemicals.

Doesn't the soil do that? Set it and forget it, no? Just add water they said. Hmm. confused now. No really, you think maybe he missed the initial topping before Flower? I was kinda thinking the same, but some strains do yellow or change colors close to harvest.
