first organic grow

I've had 3 grows so far with synthetic nutes and every time i mess up the flush and the bud smokes absolutely horrible. Also not a huge fan of having to mix up feeds every other watering. So im trying an organic grow to see if it helps me, but i do need some advice because i cant find a real feed schedule that uses dr earth.
has anyone grown with stuff similar to what im using? what would you do or what would you change? so far my grows have come out pretty weak with a lot of popcorn and airy nugs and pretty much unsmokable any advice is really appreciated.

seeds are blue dream, gorrila glue and granddaddy purp from ilgm

3x3x6 tent
hlg 260 v2 rspec & spiderfarmersf1000
5 gal fabric pots
ro water

fox farm ocean forest & happy frog (id like to be able to use up the ocean forest before switching just to happy frog)
worm castings
perlite
dr earth flower girl, premium gold. and home grown dry amendments
liquid seaweed
and recharge istead of compost teas

i also have bottled nutes, cal mag, and neem oil.

im not sure of the nitrogen longevity with this sooil, but you may wish to put some chicken manure pellets in the soil or some fish blood n bone pellets to keep the nitrogen levels up during flowering period without the need to add any grow nutes during flowering

Start with just the one strain, grow it to the size you can easily take cuttings from it. then flower the cuttings for a great harvest.
if youve had problems in the past this is what i would do.

Would down to earth bone meal be good enough to supplement nitrogen? And I only grow from seeds. So they all kind of end around the same time.

i would say yes, its a faster releace then the pellets and should last you the full grow as far as i know.

Hey Brick weed. I personally will recommend a balanced soil built from scratch. I have one my recipe in my sticky thread. I think page 2.
To get proper nutrients to the plant through the whole grow organically this is the only way without over complicating things snd tons of name brand products.

also. After your done. Chop you plants at base and throw entire pots into pile. Let the roots break down and you then have your next cycles soil. Even better than the first run.

Use a little worm castings and perlite to fluff up your Ocean Forest soil, then mix in some Happy Frog to make a gentle, not hot soil to start your seeds/small plants in. After a few weeks in small pots, jump to your 5 gallon pots in "stronger" soil, which is just Ocean Forest, perlite,castings and less Happy Frog.

Once your plants have been in the final 5 gallons pots for 3-4 weeks start to Top Dress with your Dr Earth stuff. Use like 2-3 Teaspoons of "Premium Gold" per plant. It's got the nitrogen you're looking for.

Use the Premium Gold every 10 days or two weeks. Whatever seems good. When you switch to flowering under 12/12 light schedule, Keep using the Premium Gold for the first 2 weeks of flowering. Then 2 weeks in, when pistol we forming switch to "Homegrown" or "Flower Girl." They have the phosphorus you want in flower. By now your plants should be pretty big, so use 3-4 teaspoons every 10 days or 2 weeks.

If you still have some Worm Castings left over you can top dress 1/2 cup to 1 cup of castings per pot, every 4 weeks or so. This will keep your microbes kicking, your soil healthy and help your nutrients get to your plants. You can also use "Recharge" to inoculate the soil, but I haven't used that stuff before,so I guess follow the directions.

chicken pellets, although large and need more time to break down, i use yes i ment to say that. thanx
i use fish blood n bone, seaweed meal and chicken pellets.
im not savy on mixing and amendments to the fox farm or any other brand name soils for growing. i use jacks magic or merlins magic soil n green organic soil boost. there from the local tip. many tips that take compost waste sell there own brand of composts n soils

i thought about building my own soil but i honestly just dont have the budget for it rn. i dont really know if growing is my thing yet so i dont want to spend a bunch of money again,`. but im giving it one last shot, if it works out ill start buying the stuff for my own soil.

can i mix the bags of dr earth when i top dress or should i only use one at a time? and is using ocean forest better than using happy frog and amending before planting? cause the bags are 40 bucks a pop so i dont want to be buying both soils if i dont have to.
this seems like a good simple schedule that i could make work, im popping the seeds in some water tonight to start germinating. thanks man.

Yes, you can mix the different Dr Earths to come up with the perfect custom N-P-K ratio if you want. Just don't exceed 3-4 teaspoons, Total.

It's Convenient to have the Ocean Forest with all the good stuff already mixed in. Way easier than amending the Happy Frog. So it's "better" that way. The problem is all those nutrients make the Ocean Forest "hot." Like it's too strong for seedlings and young plants and it will burn up their tiny roots.

That's where you use the Happy Frog. It's mild and good for seedlings. And you can mix it with Ocean Forest to "cut it" so it's not too hot for young plants.

In the future, after you harvest this grow you'll have a bunch of mixed up, spent soil. You can figure out how to mix up your own amendmended soil then.

Where are you located for those to be 40$? Your gunna have the same $ in your grow as a simple buildout would cost if that’s the best deal you can get.

First Organic grow and this helped a lot. I’m starting with Root Organic soil. I have samples of their line but most growers seem to be going with Dr Earth so I think I’ll go that route. Should I add anything to soil up front or just top address as mentioned above with Worm Castings.

I'm glad the info was usable. This is a great time to get into growing this way. There are so many easy to use, ready to go products now.

Roots Organic is a solid brand. Do you have the "Uprising" dry stuff? It's totally as good as Dr Earth, so if you already have some don't be afraid to use it. Dr Earth is just convenient because everybody can get it cheap and easy at Lowes or Home Depot or wherever.

I think your Roots soil should be OK to use As Is. Some extra compost or worm castings are always cool though.

I bought a bag of the Green Field mix. It says great for outdoors so wondering if there are any issues using indoors outside of maybe smell.

Running a Hindu Kush and they tend to need a little more feeding so I like the Nitrogen boost in it. Trying to pull a pound from one plant organically.

More into the quality than volume so tend to Veg longer than most.

Maybe, maybe add a little extra perlite or something to lighten up the soil. I've never used the Green Field, but the web site says it's got less perlite/pumice. Also the Roots web site says to start feeding/top dressing 2 weeks in, so be aware.

If you want big plants and long veg periods it will be important to get more nutrients, microbes and "energy" into your pots as your huge plant depletes the soil.
