First Outdoor Grow.

Hi, Guys, and Gals! Currently stoned of my ass from some nice fruity pebbles so ignore spelling mistakes if i make any . I'm kind of new to growing and need some advice/opinions yadaa yadaa yadaa. These are my four plants, all 4 are in seperate holes (2ft wide, and about 2 1/2 ft dug down but then filled in with 4-5 year old horse shit.) Which brings me to my next point. I'm using horse shit cause I have two horses. It is so nicely composted and what not that it just looks like soil now, i found a few little pieces of turds which i took as a good sign though . I also added a little bit of blood meal to the soil (or bone meal i forget, which ever one is higher in Nitrogen and better for begginnng stage of plant.) These plants are 16 days old i belive, i think i planted them a little early because the sun is only out for like 14 hrs a day right now in NJ, and my plants are getting their 12 atleast but im not sure they're getting much more. But very soon enough they will be getting plenty, am I correct in thinking they are a little small for 16 days? Anyway, I'm so high i don't know of any of this makes sense but if you can understand any of these "questions" please answer them . Thanks

It's probably a combination of the short days and roots. They don't look sickly or anything, they're probably just working on establishing roots before they take off. I really am not 100% certain, but I wouldn't fret over it.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping it is just not getting enough sun, i mean I am pretty sure they're getting atleast there 12+ to veg, but probably not much more, within the next week here they'll be getting 14-15+ and so on.

Don't worry they look healthy and aren't leaning over just protect them from high winds and heavy downpours. It's still early, I'm in Pa. and I plant around May 1 and harvest mid/late October. Right now prepping my soil with compost/chicken shit and pickin out my seeds,Happy Gardening!!!

Yeah I just accidentally started a little early I guess. Hopefully they'll turn into some nice girls

how is your drainage?

My natural soil has a little bit of clay, but nothing to worry about really. I filled up hole like 6 inches with water and went back 10 hrs after work and it was 99% gone. Then filled with soil and planted directly from there.

What are the temps like at night there? I'm a little south of you and started a few seeds just for shits and giggles a while back.. they weren't anything special so I went ahead and stuck them outside with ghetto soda bottle greenhouses to protect them a little from high winds and downpours and frosts. I remove them on nice days to let the gentle breezes strengthen their stems. Might be worth looking in to. I wouldn't recommend leaving them on all the time though.

The coldest it gets at night right now is like 40 degrees F and it won't get any worse going forward. I just always leave those four uncovered. We are getting a little rain tonight where i live but i'm not going to cover them because i havn't watered in 5 days so they could use the light showers. Wednesday at 7:00 am we are getting a downpour though but i keep 2 tarps out there and have it set up for that. Because after the last frost we got snow and i had to cover them. They all survived (Which was only like a day after i planted them.)
