First outdoor medical grow in Yosemite area

I live up in the mountains and I am wanting to grow outside this summer. The first two questions I have are, when should I plant clones and is it a good idea to fence off my area. There are a lot of deer, and other animals here.
And yes, I will definitely be keeping you posted with many pics and specs. Hope you all will enjoy.
I have these strains to choose from:
-Black Jack (Black Domina X Jack Herrer)
-Papaya
-Kings Kush (OG Kush X Grape Ape) New Strain
-Hashberry
-Skunk #1
-Super Lemon Haze ~ 2008 and 2009 Cannabis Cup Winner.

any input on them for outdoors? Thx!

I would definetely put a fence up to keep out animals, I had a bear tear through a garden one time and after me, not that a fence wouda stopped his ass but fences are key outdoors. Ive used fish line for my last couple guerilla grows, just running it around trees for a perimeter, I also heard that its good to mark the area out with your urine, Ive done it, dont know if it helped or not. Ive had lots of success with kush strains outdoor, I also got the free kings kush from gh so its probably goin outdoors for a run, so any kushes should be fine. Ive also grown farious skunk strains outdoor the worked great, havent tried to many dominant sativas, but as long as it doesnt get too cold during summer/fall at night then everything should be able to grow, just some better than others. Try to make sure they get plenty of light, the more you visit and take care of them the better they will be, although I understand how people tend to stay away and hope for the best. I like to dig big holes 3-5ft deep, 3x3 area, the bigger the better in my mind, although again not alot of people wanna dig a 5ft hole out in the forest/jungle. If I can help out in any way let me know, Im no expert at all but most of my grows have been outdoors until early last year. I usually plant mid-late april depending the weather conditions and strength of my plants, I like to get a good root system in 4-6inch pot before the plant, for instance Im already got cuttings and seeds under a few 125w cfls. Wish you the best, Peace!

Forgot you were a fellow medical grower, if your just growing in your backyard I would spend the money build a decent fence, Im building a new one right now and already got 6holes dug so they can collect rainwater and I can go deeper into the pan. I live up about 100miles north of Sacramento right smack dad in the middle of the valley, so your conditions should be fairly similar to mine just a lil colder. Im trying to get a head start this year instead of rushing at the end, cant wait for fall, especially for some of these new strains like that kings kush. Let me know how things go, peace

Ive heard about the piss thing before. I'll be trying that out. Im on a budget so fish line seems like the cheapest fence. Would that really work? Man, im going to need a lot of it. haha
I was also thinking about usin grow bags above the ground. That way I wont have to worry about gophers and such. Is that a good idea?
O ya, and I will be able to tend to it every day if needed.

You can use grow bags, I would use some pretty big ones to maximize your yield, Ive never used bags so I dont know how big you can get them. The size of your bag/hole directly effects how big your plant will become and yield, so the bigger the better in my mind. The fish line just works as a barricade, obviously its not going to physically stop an animal but generally if they run into it and feel the resistance they go the other way, animals were the single most detrimental obstacle when I used to grow out in the woods, mainly deer but like I said I had a bear trapped in a garden with only fish line around him, he could have easily just broken through it but for some reason didnt realize that. The bastard chased me on my motorcycle for almost a mile before he stopped and I saw him quite a bit after that around my area, or his I suppose, but he basicly destroyed my whole garden minus a few plants, bastard. So personally I would dig holes, if your really worried about gophers/rodents you could line your hole with chicken wire, but Ive never had any problems with gophers. Peace!

O wow! haha. lol. Well im glad you made it out alive.
Ya, im thinking about doing half grow bags and the other half in the ground.

Cool man, wish you the best of luck, hit me up if you run into any problems, its almost time to grow some good outdoor meds....peace

I was also wondering if anyone knows if I can plant a clone outdoors right after they have started to root? Will most of them survive?

-Thx
