Hi,

Call me Joe Green Thumb. In a fairytale setting(No part of this forum is true, i cannot be held accountable for what is said, or posted. All pictures are found on internet) I wanted to grow some mj, but had roommates that would squeal without even being squeezed.

So i decided to build my own grow box out of a walmart 2 shelf closing cabinet, in white(little less than $30).

I then added foam insulation all the way around inside to conceal bright light from inside, when doors are closed. Whole unit is built of sturdy MDF, except the back cardboard piece. Oh Well. It was white so it would be plenty reflective small area.

The inside contains 2 fully height adjustable shelves. On the top shelf I mounted a 2 light fixture in the center. Using 2 cool natural light cfl's, each 1600 lumens, 26 watts, 6500K. That comes out to 3200 lumens for seedlings of blue spectrum. :-|

3" PC fan converted to d.i.y. mounted fan w/ ac transformer and speed control. Quiet.:hump:

With this setup, i can keep it warm, not hot, with doors totally closed. Nothing for air circulation yet.

This is 3 bag seeds that have sprouted from a jiffy kit. Strictly experimental extra's.

...Meanwhile
My 3 Blueberry
and 3 LowRyder 2
Seeds Arrive!!!

I begin to germinate the new seeds in an aerogarden 200. This has (3) 26 watt cfls, totalling 78 watts.

Seeds begun germination process 4/22. I screwed up an just dropped seed into pods. I should have cut open and placed seed in middle. Seeds quickly begin to grow long curly root. Root is not finding way into the original Aerogarden pods. 4/25 I remove pods from baskets ,cut open pod(aka sponge), and carefully try to put as much of the root into grow medium. Roots are brittle and one end snapped in half. At the time i did not know, but roots have tiney little hairs, which were heavily disrupted(probably rubbed off accidentally by handling) and i think heavily stunted the growth and stem strength of now called seedlings.

...but

all babies have survived and are growing. 2 of the auto blueberries are having a little bit of a slow start, but will hopefully be ok.

...will do big update tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a nice little stealth setup there bro, one thing tho you are going to need some sort of odour control if you want proper stealth !!

ok.......sorry guys for not keeping you updated.

Some things have changed since my last update. Actually a lot has changed.

First, I put in a small computer fan for an exhaust for fresh air ventilation. And possibly keep heat down. I have 4 regular cfl's and the 3 in the aerogarden. 2 of the cfl's are not near the plants and partly shaded by aerogarden hood, but its ok, i get enough light already, so i put in warm color bulbs in it for a little bit broader light.

From the 3 bag seeds i chose the strongest looking plant and put it in a 6" pot. I am pretty sure it is a female. I HOPE! The other 2, I planted alongside my neighbors fence. LOL :-P

Notice how the plant started growing rapidly in the pot.

I've decided to cut some of the lower fan leaf clusters off to allow light to penetrate to new growth. It's a shame that this isn't an exotic, but from bag seed. Do those even have names???

I think it just hit puberty, with more light getting to new growth plant is growing fast. Measuring OVER 7" wide on top, and 4" high.

...NEXT... the AEROGARDEN EXOTICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know i should put up regular updates, because it is easier. And i'm jumbling everything around. Hopefully its in order of growth, or close to. Sorry

OK...here goes. I've switched over to the General Hydroponics Brand, Flora Nova series for nutrients. The plants have accepted it and are thriving. (most of em)

The two shorter Auto Blueberries have a stunted growth or something. Hopefully they recover. But will probably never get as big as other ones. And the 3rd Auto Blue has fallen kinda, because it has not rooted properly. Once it gets a little bigger, i will find a way to support it.

Notice the ONA. It freshens up the whole room.lol And the next pic is the fallen blueberry. :(

Lowryder 2 growth compared to the Blueberry Auto. Not saying thats how the always grow. Probably my fault for not germinating correctly and then putting in aerogarden. I will try them again!

that looks verynice, and i like what you did with the extra 2 bagseeds :D
letting them live outdoors is way more humane than slaughtering them immediately. sure, they could get slaughtered eventually, but at least they get the chance to live.
and nice setup, looks expensive.

yeah, the aerogarden was an expensive impulse buy. could have built a bigger better grow system if i knew how to at the time. oh well.

i'd go to barnes and nobles. go to the gardening sections and there's literally a couple marijuana growing encyclopedias. They cover a few different hydroponic methods (some eaisier than others) or do you wanna go soil?

Hey Buddy, I hope that you don't run out of room in the RES.

I am hoping that they all grow out so that I have a better idea of what the AG can handle in terms of Automatic strains.

Thx
