First run and I forgot to flush

Hi everyone, I'm coming up to the end of my first run of blue dream and I'm not sure if were ready to harvest. I should mention that I stopped watering a couple of days ago basically skipped the last round. Also I forgot to flush at that point. I've added a few photos that hopefully help. I can't seem to get my tremors under control when necessary so I apologize for the quality. I took a video but though essier to see at certain stages overall it would have been tedious. Should I flush now or let it be? One last question. How do you add a tag to the tags for the post?

Thank you for any and all advice

Flushing isnt needed with the nutrients commonly used now days, that was only helpful back when people bombarded their plants with toxic levels of nutrients.

Now most nutrients are more balanced and generally people are feeding lighter so a flush isnt needed per se. People currently just use plain water the last couple of time and call it good.
I used to grow back when flushing was needed and it was, erb commonly would taste like shit or hay and it was harder to get good tasting bud at harvest. Things have changed a lot in the way we feed though lately.

Pretty much this. Unless you literally murdered your plants with chemicals then you'll likely be fine. A lot more bottled nutes on the market, while not being completely organic, are derived from more and more organic sources of material so flushing isn't much of a concern anymore. I haven't flushed in nearly a decade now, though I also haven't used bottles in that time either.

In my experience, the dry/cure/removing the chlorophyll is where the harsh taste comes from. Should it happen to you, don't despair, you'll just need to let it cure for a bit longer than normal.

Think of it like making wine. Some wine is ready to drink right off the bat, others need to sit in bottles for a while. However, in both cases you will get a more complex and concentrated flavor if you allow it to cure for an extended period of time. But, as with everything there is too much of a good thing. Some of my harvests have been good smoke within a week of putting in jars, other harvests I had to forget about for a good 4-8 weeks before getting a smooth smoke and good flavor.

Then you live in an alternative reality. You cant smell or taste chlorophyll in plant. Period. You simply cannot, its physically impossible.

Unless internet growtards are the only people on earth with mutated taste buds that can't taste lab chemicals but can detect chlorophyll millions of times below the human detection threshold?

No wonder private growing will be punishable by death under future Cannabis laws. The delusional e grower scene is dangerous.

I wouldn't be concerned. I never flush and I have great tasting weed. Pre-harvest fushing is a myth IMO. Let the plants eat when they are doing the most important part of their growth. Low nitrogen and high phosphorous and potassium. Don't slack on the calcium or magnesium. You can run a lower overall PPM but don't stop feeding.

Perhaps you wouldn't mind taking a break from hurling the insults and enlightening some of us internet grow tards then?

This was all I could find searching for information.

"Wheatgrass is the young grass of the common wheat plant Triticum aestivum Linn., family Poeaceae (Graminae). It is commonly known as the “green blood” due to its high chlorophyll content which accounts for 70% of its chemical constituents. It contains a plethora of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and vital enzymes like superoxide dismutase and cytochrome oxidase." and "However, the most remarkable feature of the wheatgrass juice is its high chlorophyll content."

So if it's not the chlorophyll that makes wheatgrass juice or uncured cannabis so "grassy", mind telling me what it is?

While I am unable to deny that there is some outdated or just plain misinformation on these types of forums, I find that most people are usually civil enough to explain the mistake. That's part of the learning process.

I'd love to learn something new, especially if it is about something I was wrong with. Though I was unable to find any information or studies that confirms what you say as truth, so I'd be quite eager to learn to the contrary if so!

you aren't likely to learn much if anything from linguapeel. That member just moves around the forum posting over the top rants about "chem tasting buds" and how important flushing is. and how no one bud him knows what real weed is. Its really rather said.

I thought I recognized his name from the "AZ Medical Patients" section on here! Poor guy seems like a bitter old guy..

I wasn't being sarcastic when I was asking him to show me the information he was talking about. Like anyone else here, I just want to learn and better myself.

The thing most people don't consider is that a lot of these "stoner myths" and "stoner science" stems from the fact that we weren't able to readily share information until recently. Shit, even a decade ago it was kind of sketchy posting on these forums. Smoke too much of the right sativa and start deleting all of the posts you made out of paranoia that you'd get the knock and talk. While there is in fact a lot of "stoner science" out there, in the last decade or so cannabis has become much more acceptable, which means that people are able to do the research/experimenting to discover just how much of what we've thought is actually just "stoner science".. like flushing for instance!

In my experience, if you can in fact taste chemicals then your harvest was likely shit before you cut it because the plants got too much nutrients. I'm all about organics and living soil, but I don't dog on people for using "chemicals". In fact, a lot of these companies don't even use as many chemicals as they used to and a decent amount of them have organically sourced nutrients. It's not the same as a living organic soil, but I'm quite convinced that the idea of "chemical" fertilizers being responsible for bad taste is more akin to "stoner science" than it being the chlorophyll.

My reasoning for this isn't just the information I found in my above post researching the topic, but also personal experience. I've grown in living soil for the last decade now, but before then I used to use "chemical" ferts. It's entirely possible to get that "grassy" taste in both "chemical", organic, and living organic environments. And until I'm proven otherwise, I'm attributing that taste to chlorophyll. Because, unless I'm mistaken, the act of drying and curing is essentially removing all of the moisture and chlorophyll from the buds. So that taste has to come from somewhere, either the moisture or the chlorophyll. And seeing as wheatgrass juice has an incredibly bitter "grassy" taste and is made of 70% chlorophyll, it stands to reason that is the exact reason people's cannabis has that same taste and smell.

These forums are supposed to be a tool for knowledge and information. Everything I've learned has been the result of both experience and these types of forums, I received it freely so I believe others should receive it freely as well.

Poor guy might have just been having an off day or something. Be nice to see him contribute something to these " useless internet growtards" more than just insults.
