Just started my first bubbleponics grow in a home made 10gal tub with 4 six" pots.

I just got my ph meter and it was reading 8.6 but its hasnt been calibrated. so i order some ph 4.0 buffer to calibrate and went to wall mart and bought some ph 7.0 water treatment tabs and got the ph down to 6.8 with a uncalibrated meter.

So i started to notice slow growth this week which is week two day 8 but we shall see if the ph tabs will help

Anyways i would like any advice on my grow i really want to do a good job
Is a ppm meter necessary? i grew 6 in a water farm with no ph meter before and the growth was outsanding so im wondering why mine arent growing like "weeds".

P.S. i have a 400watt MH 3.5 feet away on 18/6 temp around 80 to 90 with freash a/c and oso fan with 80 cfm exhaust in a 2.5x2.5x5.5

hmm yea id suggest having a ph metre. but you should start to notice a positive change soon since u've gotten the pellets.

its been about 14 hours since tabs were added and already see more growth?

I measured and ph fell about 1.0 so still need some lemon juice or 4.0 buffer.

Off subject my neighbor came by yesterday and handed me some lavender seeds! so fuckin excited i almost want to rid what i have and go all lavender but white widow is a good strain and another canniabs cup winner so ill ahve to wait, unless one dies of course1

A Ph of 6.8 would be ok in a soil grow, but not hydro. The Ph should be around 5.6 to 5.8 in a hydro grow.

I've had a couple of lucky grows in the past too, but nothing like I have now with hydro and controlling the nutrients, Ph and grow environment without a lot of $$$'s. My Hanna combo meter was the single most expensive purchase I've made and well worth it in end results.

Good luck. Hope you get the Ph and ppm worked out.
