Hey Everyone! i just finished curing my crop and its not nearly as good as commercial. Its a red diesel strain... was on 12/12 for 13 weeks including 1 week of flush... Dried for 3 days at 30%-40%RH (it was really crispy)... cured in jars for 3 weeks opening the jars daily for 10-15 minutes...

The bud looks good (a little brownish maybe).... BUT IT DOESNT SMOKE!!! if you roll it in a j it keeps going out... you have to constantly relight it... and the ash is black.... In the volcano its great though!

What am i doing wrong?? ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME! PLZ AND THANK YOU

Thanks for the reply.. Funny you say that... I got a new PPM meter and was reading it wrong for the first 3 weeks... as soon as i started 12/12 i accidentally had the ppms at 1200-1400....

So you think that could be the cause and its nothing curing related at all?

not related...
probably still damp in its core.
if you only dried for 3 days this is likely the problem.
i never follow standard rules for drying/curing because they may not suit you.
my buds dry after 3 days just like yours... they then go in the jar for a day to redistribute moisture, then they go on my drying rack for a day, then back in the jar, then the rack again, etc, etc and i do this for about a week....
after doing this your buds should have sweated out most of its moisture so you can then leave them in the jar, opening 10-15mins a day for 2 weeks, after this you can keep the jar closed indefinately.

not a 100% what u did but sounds like u got to much moisture in ur buds..probably should of dried it a extra couple days..its all about nug size and temp and rh when figuring out how long to dry for..some fat nugs take longer to dry..but ur buds are suppose to be krispy..ur drying it out..did ur stem snap? i make sure the ends of my branches snap but the middle of the stem still bends..and when u Burp ur buds ur suppose to open ur jar 2-3hours daily

It will take at least a week or two to dry the crop with temperatures between 65-75 degrees F and relative humidity between 45%-55%. You will know when the marijuana is dry if the stems snap or break (rather than fold) when they are bent. Try smoking a small bud (1/2 gram or less) in a joint to be sure it is dry enough.

At this time, small buds will be dry enough to smoke. But larger buds should be cured (slow dried) to ensure that the marijuana is as potent and tasty as possible. If necessary, you can set aside buds that are less than 1/2 gram for smoking, while larger buds cure.

The cure lasts a week or two. The aim of what you are doing is evenly finishing the slow dry process, so that mold will not grow when the buds are stored long term. Also, by the end of the cure, any remaining inactive THC will be converted to active THC (that increases potency).

I been thinking about buying one of those trim, and dryer units, they a bit pricey but anyone hear any cons about them?? i heard it cuts down drying time dramatically
