Okay so here it is guys i have a 10 gallon tub with 5 blue widow seedlings sitting in net pots, rockwool, and hydroton.

for lights (i know i need more, and will be getting more) i have 2 6500k t8 tubes, and three 23w 2700k cfls

i had a little problem with overwatering at the beginning with the water level being too high, so i have fixed that, also i had a problem with stretching DURING the overwatering. Needless to say im sitting at 6 days veg right now and just STOKED that they are even still alive.

so yeah subscribe and help me out along the way if you want

i tried to get ya'll some pics of the most stretched seedlings, and their purple stems (is this okay? heard it happens when you over water), i'd say i made a good run at effing this grow up and they are still alive and recovering, i guess blue widow is fairly resilient!

that duct tape isnt good for hydro, the adhesive will leak into your water in time and mess your shit up. Do you have a big bubbler inside that thing? your air pump looks a little small for that size tub.
and whats with the white discs?
3" net pots?

Looking good. I'm assuming your still using plain tap water or R/O? Don't worry about the stretch you will be glad it did later so the canopy is elevated some off the lid itself and not touching :D I will be following along

Good info by jesus, I would suggest you switch to a cooler and cut 5 spots in some insulation board for those net pots and stick them in there. Check out FloGrow's thread He has a grow like that going and my mothers are in coolers, great way to keep cool temps but also 100% light proof. I've tried with duct tape just does not work.

i feel so wrong saying this but...hey jesus!

yeah i heard that about the duct tape after i had already done it, if i put a seal around the underside of the rim of the netpots do u think it will still leak in?

the air pump is a dual port from walmart made for 20-60 gallons running 2 14" airstones, i plan to either A. upgrade or B. get another single port pump with another airstone. what are your thoughts?

yes, they are 3" netpots and the white discs are my attempt at keeping light out.

cool weedler, thanks man i was feelin pretty bad about the stretch considering blue widow is suppose to be a fairly short bushy plant, but if ya'll think they are still goin good then i believe you!

oh also i have roots starting to come down out of the netpots on 3 out of the 5 plants!

throw those white devils away they are just cluttering space, if you cut right you wont have any leak, plus the hydroton will block alot of light.

I would buy a new top for the bucket wherever you bought it at in the first place and cut tight holes.

3" pots seem small but I use 6" so I cant be sure.
'I would get a stone for every plant and stick them under the roots...roots love O2.

and dont be afraid to say Hey jesus...i am harmless :bongsmilie:

the plants are looking so much better, starting to get their second true set of leaves and no more stretch! all the plants have roots coming out the bottom now too!

since i still have no nutrients i added 2 free 6 oz. samples of ubiogrow, supposedly it stimulates overall growth and it will not burn. sooo yeah cool

also picked up 4 more cfl's (of the right spectrum this time) now im up to about 14000 lumens

a little early root porn

Very nice! Jonesy if you want some explosive root growth toss in some Canna Rhizotonic after another set of leaves, if you excuse the pics...

Slow root growth noticed: (Day 1 of Rhizotonic)

DANG! i like that right there man, i noticed your roots are more brown than mine, is that just because mine are young?

DEFINITELY speaks as to whether or not rhizotonic makes that much of a difference if anyone had any doubts

Roots will become stained over time depending on what nutes you are using.
