image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Hello everyone ,brand new to the forum but have been researching over a year before I purchased my grow equipment so I have done quite a bit of research but still learn more and something new everyday. Thank God for YouTube lol. So anyways lets get on with my grow room. I have two 4x4 tents. One with 600w MH/hps, 6inch exhaust fan w/carbon filter, 3 fans. The other 4x4 has a 600w led with a 4inch exhaust fan w/carbon filter. 1 big fan. The soul I am using is a mix of fox farm, perlite, peat moss. And I have Fox farm nutes and calmag that I plan to use for my feedings. The autos I planted are 5 white widow,5 amnesia haze,8 purple kush, and one fem northern lights. All of the white widow and amnesia haze are in 2 gallon fabric pots and are in tent with MH which was switched over to hps last night cause sign of first female plant showed its sex. All ww and ah are on day 24. So are 2 of the purple kush which are showing sex too but they are in the led tent with the other PK's which are on day 10. So far the problems I have ran into which are a lot of rookie mistakes I have fixed. First the tent with the hps was getting way to hot even with 3 fans. I have exhaust shooting out my back window which is open about 8inches but I fixed the problem by placing a duct to my floor exhaust in my house, in that room and running the duct inside the bottom of tent which worked so well I had to turn down the central air a lil in the house cause it was blowing too much cold air. Second problem I have was I found small green Caterpillars which was sucking on the leaves of my seeding 10 day old purple kush. I killed all of them and sprayed down my plant and did a flush with azamax. Haven't seen one since thank God but them lil bastards did a number on 2 of the seedlings. They are alive but growth has slowed on them and especially one might not make it. But as far as the rest of my grow it has been great! I lst'd most of them and now they are on day 24 you can def see the benefits of lsting autos as they are big bushes now! Wish the would start to branch up more now tho cause they are not getting very tall but very bushy! Also only two plants are showing sex..They are starting to smell but not outside the tent, carbon filter works great! Both tents are on 19/5 light schedules because they are all autos except for the one northern lights that is only in week 1. All of the day 24 plants have received 2 veg feedings and thinking about switching to flowering nutes in about a week if the really start showing sex. Right now they are getting fox farm grow big and cal mag. Have temp finally down to 79 with rh of about 60. I water once a day which seems like I might be over watering but the plants all look healthy so hope I and doing it right. I will post pics of my setup and plants. Please any comments or tips you guys have please let me know. I am new and want to learn as much as possible from as many as people as possible so please any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! I wanted my first grow to be autos so it would give me good hands on training! I have fem blue dream, gorilla glue, northern lights, green crack, and kosher kush. To plant once these are harvested and I plan on planting just a couple for mother plants and start from there. Very excited!! Only question I really have is about LEDs..I bought a vipar600w which I thought was a great light but after reading forums people say you need to atleast pay $600 for a good led or it won't perform as well as a hid. So that's why I have my hps as my flowering light instead of my LED even tho it looks great and the plants seem to love it but I'm to worried now to trust it to give me my best yield so that's why I'm gonna stick to my hps until I get another LED to pair up with the other..so if anyone can help me answer if I need to invest in another led or if my 600w is enuf for 4x4 tent? Anyways thanks for any input!

A 600w should do decently in a 4x4, I've seen plenty of folks run similar setups with good results. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on things, only thing that raised my eyebrows was the daily feedings. Be careful with that, good way to slow growth and cause all kinds of problems. I have a batch of autos doing very well in only 1 gallon felt pots, and they only get water every three days or so. Happy growing brother!!

Thanks for the reply. How much water would you say I should give every 3 days. I water everyday because when I go and check soil in the morning the top layer is dry? Am I not watering enuf? Should I water heavy every 3 days? I'm only using about less then a gallon to water all plants everyday? How much do you give?

Well, for a 1 gallon pot I usually let them have about 1/4 gallon ( 4 cups ). Just pay attention to your run off, water slowly to let your soil soak it up well and when you start to see run off building up your good. How much you water once at a time, isn't as crucial as how often you do it, if that makes sense. You can give your girls a good soak, just make sure that the roots are absorbing most of that before you go dumping more in. Otherwise your soil will turn to muck and your roots will have trouble getting oxygen, and thats just the tip of the iceberg. The absolute best way to know when to water is to simply pick up your pot. Get familiar with what your pots feel like when their dry, so all you have to do is pick them up and you'll be able to feel if their still retaining water. Hope this helps.

Yes it does help. I am using 2 gallon pots so I should start watering with half gallon every 3 days. I have been giving them I say 1/8 gallon every day so I will stop for a couple days and start with new ratio. Thanks for the help.

Thanks man, yea watering seems to be the most confusing part for me so far. That's why I would water everyday..not enuf to make any runoff but enuf to keep soil moist because it seems dry as a bone the next day on first 1/2 inch or so of my medium, but I bought a soil moisture meter off eBay a week ago so hopefully it gets here soon. I'm sure the more experience I get under my belt the better my watering will go. I am the kinda person that always wants to overdo things and the main lesson I am learning so far is cannabis plants like don't like to be over done on anything. Water, nutes, light, air flow, pot size, almost everything needs to be in moderation so I def am going to have to restrain my self at the first and be patient until I get a good routine down! Thanks for your input! Here is day 25 for most of my plants and Day 11 on the purple kush.
