First Time Grow....Does my bud look big in these tents?

Hey I am flowering my first grow in my tent.... It is a northern lights foxfarm ocean soil grow. using flora nova bloom / av-big bug and bud candy with weekly foilar kelp spray w/ wetting agent. Lights are a mixture of HPS 150, CFL warm about 300 watts worth....and about 50 watts of led.... I think i did everything right...expect keep good records so it's all in my head.....and i lost track of the timing so I'm a little lost on that aspect.....

How far along do you say these guys are till harvest and what do you guys think in general..... another question.... is curring and drying as important if you have a vaporizer... i have an extreme-q vape...

Thanks guys!

Looks like insufficient light caused this very sativa-dominant plant to become much lankier than one would prefer, and continued lack of sufficient light is producing fluffy buds with very little mass to them. I hope for your sake you have at least 5 weeks to go else expect to be generally disappointed.

Or maybe they are just really shitty pics?

Well....this plant started out in a pretty shitty way.....it was the only survivor from a cannabis-seeds.com purchase......well it was a clone from a failed attempt.... it wasn't till about a month or two ago that I realized I needed all this stuff...grow tent, hps light, higher crade and correct temp CFL's........ so yea....this thing has been a trooper to have survived y newbie torture.....

i hear on websites saying that NL is an Indica all the time.... then i hear that it is sativa....then hybrid...... i am really confused sometimes with this strain...

from leafly:
Northern Lights Cannabis Strain

Possibly one of the most famous cannabis strains of all time, Northern Lights is a pure indica that was first grown in Holland. Northern Lights has been crossed with multiple strains to create many of the best hybrids. She is the winner of the most cannabis awards world wide, and for good reason. The indica body buzz delivered is second to none.

btw way..i have since ordered from attitude --barney's farm......tangerine dream, cheese, and silver..... these little guys are starting off sooooo much better than any of the cannabisseeds.com product ever have.... but it cost a good bit more!

She doesn't really look too big, man. Is there some kind of nute deficiency? For an indica she looks kinda funny with the skinny leaves and the tall lanky growth.

And like the other guys have said.. what happened to all of your fan leaves??

Might I suggest getting a calendar for your next grow or downloading HerbIQ. This way you can dial in correct nutes depending on the week of growth. Keeping record of time is very important.

I see a few things going wrong here. Why are all of your lights on the right side of your plant? The HPS should be directly above and the other lights dispersed around it. Also, why is your plant squished up into the corner? Is there good ventilation in the room?

Hopefully you learn from this first grow. You should read some books on growing. You should buy Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook; I found my copy at a local Barnes and Noble. Great buy and it's around 20-30 bucks.

how long u been flowering man and where did u get ur seed that doesnt look like your typical NL plant, she look like she need a good watering her leaves look somewhat crispy and theres hardley any buds. And second to Hilmnicks comment i do hope your puting the plant under the light and not to the side and i dont see no 300 watts of cfl either lol either that or im going doolaly. good luck

not to be a dick but no, they look awful, sorry about the brutal honesty but maybe you should fluch them or maybe even just tear it down and start over, you have no fan leaves, they look dead and i saw the pics of the "buds" and you can light through them, research research research and kill her and start again IMO, sorry bro.... maybe its too hot?...overwatered plants do that as well, they look dry but in fact they can be so waterlogged that they block the uptake of water and nutes eventually....could be anything

I think my main culprit is the heat...... i have two fans pushing in fresh air from the bottom and a small carbon filter at the top....it's a pretty cheap rig and a can combo system is in order...... it prob averages 35-36 degrees in there during the light cycle......which I know understand is hella hot for these girls......I'm going to be setting up a calendar next grow.. but for this one..i think i have about a 3-4 weeks more of flowering before I can make the final call..... so i'm going to setup my automatic watering systems to kick in some additional watertime time and nutes....and if i get anything from this..which i'll think i will get an itty bit at least..i will call it alright...fan leaves....this thing never had any real pronounced fan leaves....and im such a newb that nothing seemed weird to me..... and i looked at pics under google images...and you are right...this does not look like your typical NL strain.....maybe it was the heat and impropper initial lighting sysytems.... The plant is too tall to put directly under the hps...it reaches up a centimeter away from the top of the 6 foot tent as it is.....i rotate the plant throughout the day so that the 85W CFL 2700 bulbs can sun it somewhat evenly..

so yea...it looks shitty..... and my next batch is vegging under good lights and soil......so i'm gonna kick up the water/nutes and let this finish off ..and i'm sure i can salvage SOMETHING for a round or two on the vaporizer.... so yea....I think I am ready for my next official grow after this trial by fire.!!!

yea and the pics are witha shitty camera phone....so it looks worse than what it is.... (not saying it is anywhere near good thought!!)

Hey man, don't feel bad. We all suffer from a little over confidence sometimes haha :P

Now you know where you went wrong and what you're going to do right next time. That's what important (I hope you learned that preparation is REALLY important, lol). If there's one thing that you can do with this plant it's make some bubble hash after harvest--you really can't go wrong and it will be more potent than smoking just your buds.

My first harvest was just as shitty as this one, except it was 6 plants. I had two huge tupperware containers of the fluffiest, hayest-smelling pot you could ever hope for. My throat would get sore I had to smoke so much to get high. But hey, I didn't have to buy any smoke for a month or two and I sure learned alot and my next grow I put up 2 beauties and the best weed I've ever smoked.

Carry on!

yea greenman, dont even trip, every single person on here has messed up atleast 1 grow, sheeeeit, i did, live and learn, preparation is about 90% of growing if u ask me, the plant will grow anyways, its the grower and his knowledge that make it happen, keep in mind you are 110% mother nature for the girls so every aspect has to fool the plant into thinking shes outside. temps are a big deal, so is over watering and over nutriating, those are the main ones IMO
