First time grow DWC set up

Hey!

I'm setting up a DWC grow.. seeds will be germinated this weekend !

I'm using 10l DWC pots - http://www.hg-hydroponics.co.uk/budget-dwc-kit-6974-p.asp -

With ionic nutrients. I have the technaflora recipe for success kit on route though.. should arrive next month due to it being shipped from the US.

I was planning on flowering them 4 weeks from now, as I know DWC grows fast if done with care and I don't think 10L pots would allow me to have longer veg.

When I transplant the rockwool cubes (3" cubes will be surrounded with clay pebbles ) into the DWC pots I am going to use a half measurement of ionic nutrients in the water. While keeping the rockwool moist with Ph balanced water till the roots reach the water in the pots.

After one week of the roots being in the water I'll up the nutrients slightly.

Throughout the grow I plan on using slightly less nutrients than directed, as I don't want to over feed. Which I hear can be easy with DWC set ups? When the technaflora kit arrives I'll switch to them for the end of veg and start of flowering.

It's 2 plants under a 400w HPS.

Afghan Kush, Northern Lights and Barneys Red Cherry Berry. I'll pick the two strongest looking seedling to be planted in the DWC.

I picked these 3 as I hear they are easy to grow!

How does the set up sound for the first time hydro grower ?

Cheers :) !!

Welcome to dwc, happy growing!
If you mean 10L as in 10 liters, than that is too small. I grow in about 19L res, it needs to be refilled every 6-7 days at it's heaviest. The roots when done will take up 10L alone. Get at least a 19L if you want to flower in it, go bigger if you can. I veg for 4 weeks with much less light.

Don't even worry about the recommended nute schedule on bottle. Measure your EC and read what it needs. After applying nutes measure base EC and then after it drinks for couple days measure again and if the EC rises it is too much nutes, if it is lowering it's too little, altho I rather a little drop than rise since not always going to get perfect.

I'd suggest rapid rooters for germing next time, but rockwool will do.
