First Time Grow, Help a Newbie

imagine that heat hitting ur buds, does it make u feel worried? if not then its probably ok, but if theres a little bit of doubt, i'd move it a lil bit, kinda hard thing to judge. u wanna leave some heat safe area for them to grow into too, a couple cm below the safety line should be cool

new pics under the new light on 400w setting, light is 15"ish from biggest plants and 20"ish from furthest seedlings, no cooling what-so-ever reckon it'll be okay?

*edit* notice the ghetto sack of coins hanging off one end of the shade it was the only way I could get it to balance as this new hps shade is so cheaply made and light.. anyone got a better idea, dont really like the idea of the bag melting and showering my plants in change

re-potted the 2 biggest ones into separate pots with all mix last night and they've shot up about another 2 inches overnight

I recently bought x4 northern lights auto, x1 mazar auto, and a random seed I found at the bottom of an 1/8th bag. I didn't research as well as I should of done, and buried the seeds roughly an inch into the compost, I didn't know you had to point the sharp end upwards so a lot of the roots retarded. the mazar's root grew upwards and actually broke the surface, when I tried to replant it the taproot broke off. One of the auto northern lights failed to germinate, even after I tried the wet tissue method. The other northern lights that germinated have broken the surface and look to be sprouting half decently, although maybe a bit small. The random seed stretched out a bit and and hasn't really grown any foliage after nearly 3 weeks. I've just bought a 250w CFL (plan on upgrading to a 600w hps eventually) and 10x critical auto seeds. I want to get a decent grow out of this one, so who can give any tips, apart from not repeat the mistakes I already made :sad:.. thanks guys

after you have had your fill of autos try normal seeds 12-12 from seed.....less electric and good weights to be had.........

8-9 weeks plus the veg time as even if you put straight on 12-12 it still has a little veg time til its old enough to flower......do drop in on my 12-12 from seed thread.....more than welcome...some good pics and info to be had..

cheers bud, will definitely check it out. I don't honestly think autos would make a good long term solution for anyone as you keep having to buy expensive seeds every couple of months and most people seem to burn them through at 20/4 or even 24/0 lol.

it states 8-9 weeks flowering.............it doesnt flower from the start.....will prob take 3 weeks to start so reckon on 12-13 weeks mate.............believe me ive been growing this way for a while............maybe something like hash bomb would be done in 9-10

ah yeah I see that now, I stand corrected (...said the man in orthopedic shoes) still 3 months aint bad, autos take 2 months, less yield and 2 months at 20/4, or 24/0 would probably be the same electricity as 12/12 for 3 months

for def...........doing reg seeds 12-12 from seed with a 400 you can pull 1 1/2 + dry per plant and with a 600 hps 2-4 oz dry per plant. id say much better than autos plus more choice and stronger smoke........
