Hi there, just started a grow around a month ago. And i think there maybe a problem. Sorry i dont have pics.

The growth of the plants have started to drastically slow down. The tips are going yellow, then spreading to the rest of the leaf.

There around 20 cm, maybe a tad more in height. Is that a normal size a month into growing?

Im using pleat soil
350w halogen lighting
Room is always around 80-85F.
I water when the soil drys (usually once every 2days)
Its tap water but stands 48 hours before i use.
The strain is k2

Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks!!

NO not Miracle Grow, Freaking YUCH, BLAH, POOP!!!!!
Use FF Grow Big and FF Tiger Bloom for 12/12.

Why don't you go with some T-5s. Keep your plants short and change your bulbs for 12/12.

Even some cfls would be much better than what you have for lighting now. I'd say read alot more to answer all your questions for a first grow...
Good Luck

Plant been male" and i know im not even grasshopper, im what comes before that lol
Look man it's fairly simple just get online and download a book on basic growing (Ganja). Once you get the basics down and your plant responds with vigor, you will be that Grasshopper.
+reps 2 the soon 2 be Grasshopper.

Indeed, halogens aren't very much the recommended light source you want for you plant, since that could cause overheating and firehazards.

What you'll want to aim for, if you're a budget grower, is mostly CFls. THey're cool, consume less energy, and usually do a decent job for lighting.

As for your nutrients go, you could go with spending a little more with Fox Farm brand. But if you really intend on flowering a male plant, best not use expensive stuff. Aim more for plant nutes with a high phosphate. Something along the lines of a 1-2-1 ratio. I.E. 8-17-9 is what I use right now.

Otherwise, try to keep your temps a little lower, such as a 75-80 if you're able, since that'll promote a better growth and flowering.

ALso, you may want to use some different type of soil, such as potting soil, as the peat may have used up the most it could.

Oh, and have you repotted since you started growing your dude?

Dude, please put your problems in another thread. It's easier to help people if they don't bunch up in the same threads.

Now, your problem is that you probably went to get those lights off of ebay. THe problem with some ebay-bought lights are that they aren't made for growing. You'll also need to get mostly blue, since that woudl've been the colour for growing.

If you really want to start growing, lad, aim more for CFLs. They're cheaper, cooler, and consume less energy. Plants devellope well, under them.

Now, make yer own thread. You'll have more people to help you faster.

Thanks for all this info guys. Just been to work and i found some flueresent lighting with a blue layer round them. I shoved them in back of van lol. Would i be best off removing the blue layer or does that have some special effect. Its like UV or somat. I can go buy some cfls but these lights were free, and if they work just as good it saves a few pennies!! lol

Melangwanja: ye ive repotted, seeds in paper towel, then grew in plastic cups and now in plant pots. Thanks for ya help so far.
