first time grow may need help

Hey! I'm setting up my first room! I'm under the basment stairs. I have 175W metal halide and 2 long flouressents. Not sure the wattage. I'm gunna be hanging the tube lights on the slanted part of the stairs ant the mh on the tallest part. My theorie is I start my plant on the lower side of the tube light and as it grows move it down the line, clone it, and put that one in its place ect. That way ill constantly have at least 4 plants. Plan to harvest a plant a week. And ill start 12/12 right away and keep the plants small. Like a conveyer belt. Probably buying a hps instead of the mh. Any help would be greatly apriciated

You will have to have a lightproof division around your flowering plants. They need 12/12. The veg and clones need 18/6 light.

Also take several cuts each time to cover failures of rooting

Honestly,I think you would be better off not trying the perpeptual 12-12 therory thing you got going.You would be better off just the 4 plants at one time.veg for a bit and bud em out.especially for a first time grow,keep it simple,and just worry about keeping your plants healthy and happy.What medium you going with dirt?hydro?why not a veg spot since your getting a hps for flower use the mh.

I agree with all the prior suggestions, but if you do your plan, you're going to have 52 plants going?

Thanks for the feedback! Iwas actualy looking to almost cut out the veg time to like a week.and keep the plants about 2-3 feet by harvest. The reason is I'm only growing personal. Kinda like an autoflower except I'm controlling the flowering.. If that makes since? Have a clone room and start that process at about 6-8 inches. I'm using soil. I picked up a bag of ffof, perlite, vermiculite. I have yet to buy extra nutes but read I don't need them for about a month or so. Again thankss

lmao sounds like my first indoor idea..accept i also had another closet for budding...you wont have enough room to do a perpetual all under the stairs and id advise only using the flourescents for vegging and hps for flowering no need to veg with the mh especially if this is your first grow...i also agree that it isnt a bad choice to ditch the perpetual idea and just use your one space, grow the plants for a month to two, then bud them there. if you want you can always take clones right before flowering them and put these in another room, just start a real small clone/veg rack in a bedroom or something and this will allow you a perpetual but on about a 2month interval and also allow you to choose the best plant to take over the garden by the third run.

Say, everytime I harvest one, I put in another rooted clone. So ill only have 4-6 plants always.its kinda confusing lol ill post a diagram soon.

Yeah as long as you have a seperate place to clone then give it a shot

How's the soil? Shud I but extra nutes? And I'm starting from a seed my buddy gave me. I'm still not Sure if its any good. How do I make sure I get a femail from this seed?

Sprout it, let it grow. If balls show it's a male. If pistils show it's a female. You cannot tell by looking at a seed. You cannot manipulate sex in a seed.
