first time grow setup help ?

If you go cheap, you end up with cheap product.
You will still be going out and buying weed. Your 50 setups will be close to a waste of time, not completely but close.

Cheap setup is cheap results. You need ph meter temp meter humidity meter a jewelry loupe that alone is like 50 usd. You can veg with Cfls, but I wouldn't flower with them. I wold get a hps even if its a 150w. I grow bagseeds and I smell it when it's veg so your gonna need a inline fan and filter. That's 120 usd alone I would imagine strains smell more... Just my opinions..


not to mention you need pots, soil, nutes and perlite plus mason jars and caliber 3 hydrometers for curing... The little things add up

quick update , found a nice airtight container in my loft today with a opening and a few holes in , my plan is to cover the holes with activated carbon to try absorb smells , im gonna get two 65w cfls in there for just one plant which researching sounds like it iwll be enough , im gonna attach a small fan inside to keep air circulating in there and get the plants stem nice and strong and since ill be checking every day on it then this should refresh the air enough for one plant , also may look into ona gel to cover up smell too. oh and ill paint the inside white , then im gonna run a few tests to see if smell does get covered up and go crazy with the duct tape to

i ain't expecting a huge amount just enough to have a good time when i harvest and then grow another plant , any would be good for me im doing it for the experience not so much the yield and well cheap is cheap id rather try it and see how it go's than not try at all , any weed is good weed

You must not smoke very much.

1 plant will take about 4 months total. Under those really cheap lights you will end up with maybe an ounce to 1 1/2 ounces off 1 plant.
If you only smoke 1 1/2 ounces over 4 months, it is probably cheaper and better to just buy it off the streets.

i got work and stuff in between so it kinda helps me get stuff done if i don't have stuff to smoke all the time and well the reasons i wanna try growing is not so much the money its 1) getting undercut all the time 2) the people i have to deal with just are'nt trustworthy 3) personally i don't like picking up off people on the streets since the city i live in is always busy and you see a lot of police 4) id prefer to grow so i know its not sprayed with some possibly damaging sprays 5) i don't like the thought of my money going to gangs which cause nothing but problems for innocent people

1 1/2 ounces would last me a good month and if my first plant reaches full maturity and i manage to harvest then i might consider growing 2 plants at intervals so i get a new harvest every 2 months or so ,

all im asking is if the setup im proposing would work and if the plans ive got would get rid of the smell i know its not the worlds greatest setup but once i get established and know what im doing and get some experience then i may look into expanding

so if i seal all air leaks with carbon padding , put ona gel as well as a tub of activated charcoal inside the container would this eliminate the smell ? i know the plants won't produce there highest yield without a fan etc but surely doing this is the same as a carbon filter ?

I disagree with the last statement any weed is not good weed and nothing better then a carbon fan and filter

well any amount of weed i can get from a first grow will be a success to me , there probably is'nt anything better than a carbon filter and fan but im just proposing an idea to try reduce smell and trying to get an answer to that question ...

Ona only masks doesn't eliminate

Your in the UK arent you? Go to growell and get some stuff for your grow. Check out their website, if you want a decent weed your gonna wanna put a fair amount of money in, imo £50 isnt enough if your counting your feeds into it aswell? Also if you do have a succesful grow you dont want to mess up the drying and curing process thats a skill in itself, so your gonna want a temp and humidifier.
Just my opinion, gl with it all though.

cheers for the info guys , and no the £50 is lights and odour control , it does'nt include seeds or nutrients im gonna use fish tank water since it'll be high in nitrates which will help im just gonna go for it and see if the smell leaks i guess ill cut my lossed and chop it and save for better equipment cause i could still use the stuff i get in that setup to
