First Time Grow

So I plan on starting to grow sometime in late April. I have a good location and seeds picked out (G13 Haze). I plan on getting big black trash bags and putting soil in them, wanted to use miracle grow but heard its not good, any good soils, or should i plant the seeds straight in the ground. After the plants get big enough gonna put a small layer of mulch on the soil so it keeps in the moisture. Also i want to get some nutrients for the plants that i can get from lowes or home depot, need suggestions. Gonna get a pH meter and monitor the pH of the soil and water. I

I know its a while till i start but wanted to know if the trash bag thing was a good idea. My brother said im not gonna get much/good bud since its my first grow. I want to prove him wrong.
ANY Tips

Peace & Pot

im not to sure about the plastic bags.. but with all the time you have you should be able to dig som good size holes fill with some drain rock @ the bottom and fill with good soil MG will work but fox farm would work better.. also if you prep your soil in advance you can throw some fish guts or heck a whole fish in the hole if you want..

ight true probably gonna due that, but how deep and wide should i make the hole
If it was me I would make it to where the hole is maybe 1'-2' deep and 1' wide. Next, you want to put your soil in the hole(i prefer fox farm). And as Reggaerican said you can throw in some fish in the soil and just let it rot in there so it can release nitrogen in the soil which plays an important role in a seedlings life cycle. But if your location is somewhere that you need to walk/hike too then I suggest you germinate your seeds at home and plant it as soon as the root tip shows. As far as nutrients, there are all kinds. It just depends whether you want to have an organic garden or not

I live on the east coast and heard sativas are not good to grow because of the long time it takes to flower and because of the humidity. can someone confirm this?

well if your gonna grow outdoors then you might want to make that whole bigger them things can really get big with the right tlc another thing to take into concideration is what the existing soil is like? if hard clay then you might want to dig a three foot hole but if you have good soil as a base then 1 ft might work just fine..

also a good tip for soil preparation..

if you mix a good blend then you wont need to use any nutes durring the entire veg cycle.. i dont use any nutes in my outdoor grows even into late flower unless i start to see some deficiency..

good luck with that, and if i were you i would just start reading alot of threads on soil preperation..
