First time grower bubblegum

question here, when i checked on my germinating seed i notice that the tap root was about 2 1/2 inches long. Problem i ran into is when i drilled a little hole inside the grow sponge i went to place the root in there and it snapped. Will this kill the plant or will it just keep on growing? another question is when do i add nutrients? right now its just plain water in the reservoir. thanks for your help
 
you should be good,i use 1/4 of the normal dose for the first couple of weeks then go up from there. Different plants different nutes out there.
 
So, it's the one bubblegum that your growing?
What nutes are you planning on using after the seedling stage?
 
I would top them at about 3 weeks
change the res water at least every 2 weeks
add at least 2 23 cfl 2700 when you flip to 12/12 as your light is not for flowering
all mistakes I learned from when I started with the aerogarden
 
my bubblegum came out fan freaking tastic. The no smell is bullshit, it was so freaking skunky the last weak my wife was getting ill. I had to get a tent and carbon filter.
 
Sorry to hear that man, that really blows. Two days ago your plant looked amazing. What happened? Definitely can't salvage it? Good luck.
