OK. You got 1 thing so far...and I'd say it's pretty good thing you have that....always good to have a PH meter. First...how many plants do you plan to grow?...CFL's are great to use if you have only 2 plants. Any more and it starts to get more expensive and your better off to go with an HPS. As for the type...you want 6500K for vegging, and 2700K for flowering. You'll want at least 1 light per plant for the first week or so...after that you will be adding more to it, i went with 7 all together for my 1 plant, and it had amazing growth. Brand doesn't matter...look for the hight wattage available...Home Depot has 42W cfl's that come in bot of of those spectrum's i mentioned. Also too while your in veg... having a colour mixture is always beneficial...i had 5 6500K and 2 4100K, just to give a little bit of red in there as the sun naturally produces. Having a 2700K in with your 6500K is ok to do as well...but make sure your concentrating on the blue end of the spectrum during your veg cycle. When you go to bloom...you can just reverse the light setup...concentrating on the red end. Your nutes should be high in (N) and low in (P) (K)...something like 20-5-5 for veg...and for flowering something like 5-15-15. Just try to get the best of what your local store has.

I dont know about all the ph shit and such....cause all the stuff i use is organic but i can help you out on the lights bro....
This is my setup, my camera isnt here now so i cant show you pics but....I can tell ya what i got....
I have a 5 plant setup...in a box...
What you want to do is go to home depot....or wal-mart...
Get some dual light adapters, the are like 2.89 a piece so you can put two bulbs in one socket...
I have six cfl's in my setup....they are 60 watts..now watts dont matter, its all in the lumens.
I cant remember what brand exactly but they come in four packs and they are the spiral cfl's the save you money kind....The ones you want come in a red pack, they have 800 lumens each....
they are about 10 bucks a pack...get as many dual adapters and lights as you want...
my shit is all organic so to kill gnats and any soft body insects that might put larvae in my soil i use organicide...its a fungicide and a insectaside...15 bucks a bottle but will get rid of the problem very quick....
And this is the only place im not organic, hate myself...lol
I use shultz plant food. 10-15-10..very safe and you can use it every time you water your plants...very idiot proof...i use 2 liter bottles and put 14 drops in the bottle and fill with water...
That is about it i guess......ummmm.any other questions feel free to ask...

and also my plants are clones i know nothing of the age of them, im wondering about topping, as you can see im working with a very small cabinet for the time being but i dont want them to grow so tall just bushy when would be a good time to do so

Yeah bro....nice box and shit, but those 120 watt plant lights suck...are way way to hot and you have to keep them high...plants get to tall and not so bushy...I used those in the first part of my grow, they work but not as good as some cfl's...yeah man with that setup you can have the cfl's about 5-8 inches off the tops of the plants and the secondary growth will come out faster...aka the spot you take more clones from...
and topping, they are a little small yet...normally you want to wait till they have 5 nodes...The plants will double in height depending on strain when you flower so keep that in mind...but with the cfl's you can keep plants 3 inches away from the tops if you have to...

im gonna try and find my camera, just the other day i changed my setup i have two cfl's 105 watts each but have 6200 lumens each...and i use those for the 5 plants...i had the other small ones in....and it burnt my babies a lil...I got those lights at 1000bulbs dot.com
you need an e-26 medium base on it or they wont fit...they are so cool about half as big as my arm...lol

If you can swing it get a metal halide. High Tech Garden Supply is something to check into. But if your on a budget get some 6500k CFL's for veg and then for flower switch to 2700k or 3000k. Like someone said earlier get them Y adapters. More bang for the buck. And also make sure you have proper airflow a venting. Keep on misting on:-)
