First time grower, critique my setup - 6 plants 400W HPS

Okay so I've got FoxFarm Tiger Bloom, Grow Big, and Big Bloom. Which would be best to use right now at 1/4 strength? And about how much water should I use per plant? I checked them a few minutes ago with my moisture meter and they're just right... Don't want to overwater. Oh and just want to be sure, do I check the pH of the water first, then add 1/4 strength nutes, then recheck pH?

Hey if you cant lower the light you could always raise the plants. I use blocks of wood and buckets to get them closer to the light. try to keep the canopy level at the top as different plant will grow at different rates. Looking good though. You must be planning to transplant again before flowering?
Sorry mate just now noticed your post. Yeah I plan on transplanting again before flowering, I'll probably veg them for another 3 weeks or so then move them to 12/12.

Your roots are probly really scrawny. A plant with such a flimsy stem lik that has to be going through some root issues.

And why would you ph yourwater then ph again after you add nutes? PH after you ad formula before you feed plants.

use the grow big at 1/4 strength and then use it on one WW and one PK and then watch the effects for the next 4-5 days that should be enough to break down and absorb the feed. if you got the hydro based grow big then they should react within a day or two. i still recommend getting superthrive or supervit its gonna help them out with stress and help them well thrive!! its not very expensive less than 10 dollars and u have enough to use on you clones forever. oh, and very important go to walmart and buy some daylight 6500k cfls it will really help them if you got a closer light and a better spectrum of light for that phase

I guess I'm just a perfectionist ha.

Picked up some Liquinox Start Vitamin B-1 for transplant shock. They had superthrive but all they had was a qt and it was really expensive ($62.41). I'm gonna feed them in a few minutes and take some more pics.

Oh, and instead of moving the light down I just put them on a rubbermaid bin to make them closer.

dude your clones were just transplanted give em a lil time and they will pick up just be sure to keep your temps at bay and dont put your light to close. If I were you I'd figure out how to get whatever you got on the floor with ducting to your hood up and hanging above the light to allow you more floor room. good luck with your grow.. and be careful who you listen to bout what to do with your plants make sure they have a legit source :D

i started my 400watt about 2 ft above my babies fresh out of germination. youll see alot more development within the plant instead of seeing it stretch like u see in ur plants. the plants will be stronger and support more weight increasing ur palnts final yield

New pics. Just gave them a little water with some 1/4 strength Grow Big (about 1 mL) and 1/4 teaspoon Superthrive (went over to Home Depot and got a small one, the other stuff made the pH pretty wacky and I didn't want to harm my babies so I didn't use it). Last picture is a leaf on one of the PK's. Should I cut it or is it too soon?

Whatup man... So you want me to critique your shit right.... OK .. Ill be the first to inquire about some shit.

1. The light and fan set up deal.... How you have that going again? what fan?.. is it sitting up on top suckin air out of the cab?... or sitting out on bottom sucking air out?

2. Your watering methods?... it looks like your drizling around the plant base... just get the whole top wet and wait 15 min then do it again... as soon as you have water draining from the bottom you can stop... then dont water again until they feel light when you pick them up.

3. Fans...Im not seeing air circulation... but then sometimes i miss things... But from what i can see... I would add a few more fans blowing across the plants... dont worry thinking wind will damage them.... it will make them stronger ....

Im sure all of these things you have done some investigating on before purchasing your tent...and forgive me if you have this setup to some carbon filte routside of it and such.... But honestly speaking 79 degrees in there is not so good for me... I like the low 70's... There is no need to bring fresh air for your light... Just sucking the hot air through it would do you wonder.... something with this concept in mind...

genfranco info is very useful, you should set up your system like this. Try to limit the 90 degree bends in the ducting. This will cause a 40% reduction in airflow; that's why your temp. is pushing 80 I think.
B1 good  Good Roots = Good Buds!
Fan? I didn't see a fan...:bigjoint:

1. Fan is a 737 CFM Can-Fan on top sucking air out. And I do have a 6'' clip on fan up top in the tent blowing air around, just can't see it in the pics.

2. I just gave them a little water w/some superthrive and grow big, the soil was already moist so I didn't want to give them too much.

3. See no. 1.

Thanks for the info mate! thought I needed to have ducting through the hood on both sides. Feel kinda stupid now ha. The temperature right now is 77 even, earlier it was between 73-76. Didn't think that would be an issue.

1. Sweet duct fan... that 6 inch is crap i have one and only use it on small plants right next to them.... you have the room.. get a 12-18 incher in there... the more air movement the better man. All you gotta do to install is remove the fan from the base and hang a chain from the screw holes using s hooks to hook up to the fan and the tent. you can get heavy dutty s hooks in HD with high pound rating... Not that the fans are that heavy... but its good to know it wont break on ya.

2. I hear ya ... just looking at the pics is what i have to go with... based on the look of your plants id say they want water and air...

3. Open that hood up so it can get old stale air out of the tent... if you dont want to add fans to the bottoms for fresh air to come in Just leaving them open with some ducting so the light doesnt go in through them would work with that fan... Fresh air in..old stale hot air out...

More pics...

Oh and the temp is at 73.5 right now. Still on 24/0 for the time being, probably gonna switch to 12/12 in a couple weeks.
Great!.. comment was based on the pic showing 79...

well thats all i can see man.... good luck bro and happy growing!

they are stressed in part because of that big hps about 2 feet away he either needs to lower the hps or get some 6500k cfls in there close to the plants and turn off the hps for now. you should look into this soon before you get some plants that wont support branches after 6th week of flower. and other issues can arise from the stress. right now my advise is to lower/switch light and ad some superthrive in your water that has b-1 and helps them to relieve stress. and they could probably use feed as well, start at 1/4 strength. if you do this i guarantee those will perk up and start looking sweeeet. be careful not to overwater though
k, so they look streased because the light is 2 feet away?... really?... cuz with a light that size the optimum distance for 10,000 lumens is 2 feet... sure when the plants get bigger, and they can take more intense light, move it closer! but for now... i really dont think what you are telling him to do is going to do anything... how can a few cfl bulbs increase the amount of light in an area... more lumens doesnt mean more light, it means more light for farther distance. adding more light wond do anything but waste more power and probly make some more heat...

but hey if he does turn off the hps and go with some 6500k cfls it might help a bit... but i would only have it like that for a bit... and come on! a fan in there blowing on the plants will make them grow thicker branches...

but for real dr blunt, get a fan goin on those babys! make sure they dont get blown around too hard tho, just make them shake a little bit. this will without a doubt make your branches and meristem grow and grow and grow... something has to simulate wind...

ok a fan isn't gonna resolve his whole problem man i agree its gonna get the stems bigger and is always good to use it, but those clones seem to be reaching out too much(stretching) and that's why they have weak stems in the first place. get a plant under the right veg conditions and stalks will be thick and tough without a fan on them. the next time he grows he will get the same problem. why the hell not invest in some light that is the right spectrum for the right phase? next time around hes gonna get much more benefit than the cost to get a few cfls in there and take them out about in a month. that cab is only so tall, of course you can lst and top but thats just another consideration. I think that having blue spectrum for veg is very beneficial thing, others might differ. but its not a waste at this point to get the right lights since he can reuse them whenever

New pics. Made a few adjustments to the room and added another fan, gave 4 of the plants water, the other 2 were still moist so just left them be for right now. And I cut the leaf off the one PK, it was looking pretty ugly.
