First time grower feedback please!

These are pics of the lower part of my pant probably the first 3-4 inches of it. My lights don't penetrate deep enough for them to do anythign suffecient so I was thinking about just cutting all them off. My question is am I correct in thinking that they are just sucking up energy that could be used for the rest of the plant closer to the light or if I leave them will the be used as a source of energy when the budding starts and therefor eventually fall off anyway?

OK so I went away for a week and left my roomate in charge of the plant. When I came back it looked great the buds are gettin to be a pretty good size well watered so overall prettyy good. But there is a fan leaf that is bent at the base and looks liek its about to fall off. My roomate said that a few had done the same thing and fallen off but we talked to a growing buddy of ours he said it tends to happen sometimes. Is this normal for a plant to do or will it hurt it in the long run? If so what should I do to fix it?

Have a pic? its kind of hard to tell what it might be w/o one . It's probally just the oldest leaves getting older and less effecient and the plant deciding to get rid of them. If they come off with a gentle tug then they are ready to come off, otherwise let them be.

No pic lost my camera but I gave it a healthy watering becaus shortly after I posted I checked again and the whole plant looked on the verge of death! Looks alot better today I guess my caretaker wasn't doin his job..lesson learned. I'll have some pics up as soon as I figure where the hell I put my camera.

Still can't find the camera so here's some shotty pics from my phone let me know what yall think I should do or just how they look.

Took a sample cutting off the lower branches a few days ago and hung it to dry. Smoked it today and must say i was surprised at how it tasted and smoked for how early it is still.

New pics not mmuch change but I was thinking that when I get ready to harvest if I should cut the top buds first then move the lights down and let the lower branches ripen more. Does anyone know if this would work or is it just a waste of time?
