this is my first time growing and i have little knowledge in growing anything. i am using a 18 inch flourescent light on a 24 hour light cycle . been growing for 2-3 weeks now . could really use the help
k thats way too much light, sometimes people start a seedling with that, but i use 20 light 4 dark to start. by now you should have them on a light schedule of 18 hrs light and 6 hrs dark, until you put them into flower with a 12/12 light schedule
also it looks like u might want to put the lights closer, how far are they?
should post this in grow journals. people will help you.
Could you provide these info:
1. watering schedule
2. lights
- type of bulbs (wattage, lumens, color temperature)
- number of bulbs
- distance from plant
3. fertilizers
etc.
i try to keep the lights 2-3 inches above the plant .. i also have 2 fans in there that keep the lights from getting too hot and to circulate the air a bit
for future referance stay away from those slow release fertilizers in your soil especially for small seedlings. They don't need any fertilizer until about now or even a littled later. I think that your plant is stunted because of it. The plant still looks pretty healthy and may recover but that's why it's so small. The low light levels could also be helping this. What aed you going to use to bloom with your going to need a HID or at the very least multiple cfl bulbs. I say go get some better soil and plant some more, if you do it right they could catch up to that one in a week from seed.
that plant looks very small for its age, try adding some fert @ 1/4 strength till they perk up, then move up to 1/2 strength. Keep the lights as close as possible to the plants without gettin too hot, should be 1 -2 inches using that floro of yours. As soon as they start nice veg growth add a couple 5000k Cfl light bulbs, 24/0 light cycle will work for now, but as soon as they start growin quickly switch over to 20/4. Once you almost reach your desired height switch over to 18/6 to preflower. Once sex has been decided and clones or w/e have been taken switch to 12/12
good luck, any more questions feel free to ask
well I personally don't use any types of "exotic" or "specialized" ferts. Just an all purpose 20-20-20 plant fert for the veg stage, and a 15-30-15 fert for flowering
ok sweet so i went and got a timer and a thermometer today .... i switched my lighting to a 20/4 schedule , and my temp so far reads 71.6 F , but i have a window open and its kinda jumping around abit .. will get a more accurate reading wen i can
