I am a first time grower and I'm growing White Widow. I dont have the money to buy the good lights i seen online thats was recommended like the HPS or MH....so im using just a fluorescent light fixture....i read it can be veg and flower under fluorescent....so my question is how long do i veg before flowering......i been veg for 3 weeks now on 24/7 light.....i have pix too....im growing 5 plants

yeah flouro's suck for flowering, but the first grow is always experimental right?

anyway nice man those plants are small for three week old but healthy looking all the same.
to answer your question you can flipp the switch to 12-12(initiate flowering) whenever you want really.. its kind of prenference of how big you want it to be..
pre-flowers and when the nodes start alternating are signs that the plant is sexually mature and is ready for flowering, but if you want you can wait till after that.

You can veg for as long/little as you want. The longer you veg, the more the plant can yield. I would say it comes down to personal preference and grow style. Your plants are looking good

You'll probably want to veg those for awhile as they're growing pretty slow IMHO. If you switch to flower now, your yield will suffer.

I would wait at least til you see preflowers @ 4-6 weeks,,,,then she is telling you she is mature( and sex)...and i grew all mine from a 60w flur, and I now flower under a 150w hps....but if you stay with flur then you will want to get a 2700k bulb for flower along with the 6500k you have now....or what is your flur rated??? how far away is it from your girls....mine is within an inch...lol

this is only half way through flower and on a lower branch,,i had to take top of her as Im a twat and left her in veg for way to long. ... as long as its in the red spectrum of light, 2700k, ,. Its on the site though. and you dont really have to use both in the flower, red is all im using and she is doing great. And to duddmann, your plants look good and healthy, just like every one say its very dependant on your grow space and how long you want to wait. I say 8-12 inches tall(I have lot of height to play with though) and then bub when you like.

yeah sorry i was talkin bout the ones back up at 6000k with a blue spectrum.
i've seen some impressive grows with the 2500-2700k ones
people say once you go hps you dont go back, but the heat really doesnt appeal to me:/

i have two plants and i am using 1 small and 1 big fleurecents and a small lamp for heat and one is kinda stunted while the other is pretty big just bagseeds tho

Have you looked into CFL's? I just picked up (4) 23w 2700k CFL's for flowering for about $6 at home depot.
