You don't have to chop off buds that will swell more the coming weeks just to check the trichs.

It's hard for us to tell without a picture of the trichomes. But if you want wild guesses I would say wait minimum 2 weeks, but 3 weeks would probaly be closer to the truth.
I base that solely on that they still got alot of white hairs, but hairs aren't a reliable way of telling.

Yep you need to resist the urge to rush it. I know it's hard. those buds haven't started to swell yet that is a much better sign of maturity then a few trichs.

You have to let the whole bud mature to get your best results!

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
Would you think I should still be giving nutes? I have been continuing with just ph'd water for the last week or so and I've noticed some fairly significant yellowing of large lower fan leaves.

You stopped feeding your girls at their swell stage. Should've kept feeding imo. They look good tho.
When/If you took cuttings, try feeding them a bit longer, or taper down your nutes. See of you find differences. The key is to harvest when they are fully ripe. That and harvested to your preference of effects.

I feed till harvest and always get compliments on my herb, but that's just me.

I've done the experiments over the years with flushing and not and reducing feed.

I've found that for me I like KISS. I feed the girls a nice medium mix to keep them happy and healthy right until they are done.

Usually since I don't hammer them with nutes to start with they still get just a little fade the last 2 weeks or so.

Does this MAX out my yield by pushing the plants maybe not. But my quality is always top tier!

Some great insight, thanks Thundercat.

9 weeks since the 12 12 flip today.

In regards to giving the girls more nutrients I have a couple questions. With watering day being tomorrow I need to decide what to do. The pictures I'm attaching should highlight what I'm a little worried about. Firstly, some of the top leaves on my main colas have curled tips and I cant tell if it's because shes hungry for nutes or maybe I burned her with the feeding last week and it's from that.
Basically I dont wanna over nute now if it will cause more damage to those smaller fan and sugar leaves near the tops.

A few notes about the photos.

The smaller plant on the right I can tell I gave too much N to her and gave it clawed leaves. I couldn't find the balance of nutes exactly right with these two drastically different sized plants.

-In regards to the larger plant-
The light I know makes it realllly hard to tell but the larger and medium leaves are really showing signs of yellowing. Just the tips of sugar leaves have yellowed and some crisped.

I apologize if I sound like a total noob I just know you guys are experienced and could have the info I need :) .

Dont think I have not done any reading or research because trust me I have, but what a sea of information it is. . . Lol

Depending on what you like, couch-lock or high might be time to cut. I like high so I harvest when they just start to cloud. Amber is couch-lock. More than that is a waste. (which means you killed the THC.)
