First time grower. Indoor/outdoor

This is my first attempt to grow EVER. Did little research beyond basic growing stuff. Doing much more as I go along. Currently doing an indoor outdoor grow. Couldn't really find ANY information on this besides people saying it's a horrible idea but it seems to be working out pretty well for me. I have no clue what strains these are as they are simply bagseed that i got from my sister. Kept outside from sunrise(around 730ish) to sunset (530ish). Then i bring them inside and place them under some cheap cfls I bought at Wal-Mart for like $12 a piece until like 12. Then i let them rest. Ive seen better growth when i let them rest than putting them under light 24 hrs for some reason. Anyway started with 3 seeds but one showed to be a male about a week ago but the remaining two Im 90% sure are females. Now for the part im probably going to get shitted on for; im using the devil's soil miracle grow(blue bag).....i know i know im a noob. It was all i had in my garage at the time and i waa honestly to afraid to change it during my transfers. They seem to actually be taking pretty well to thia soil though. I honestly have only feed them twice. They will be 7 weeks this Saturday. Ive been doing some LST so they arent super tall. I fimmed them about two weeks ago as well. I plan on vegging them for at least another 2-3 weeks. Specifically because i would like to clone the larger one since its been so strong and easy to take care of. Any suggestions and tips would be great....and i can take a joke...pictures below

I the first picture my pet took a bite out of that leaf on the left and I always try to make a point to trim any brown or severely shriveled leaves on sight so thats why some tips are cut.

sounds like a plan... go with your gut and make notes.

these plants are c4 plants sticking them under cfl 24/7 wouldn't hurt (at least 18 hours). but taking them in and out of the sun may confuse the plant especially during cold days or other day with less sun... not to mention the labor involved. just my 0.02

Welcome.
Plants look pretty good! Little small for 7 weeks. I agree with others that indoor/outdoor can give you some issues. I used to veg them with just 2 cfls and they grew pretty well. Like lio mentioned, bugs can catch a ride and can be a B**ch to deal with.
Not sure how much space you have but how long you plan on veggging?

Also taking them outside and inside is a Great way to get all types of bugs.
Thanks for your insight, i appreciate it. I stay in super southern FL so the cold(or sunless days for that matter) hasn't been much of an issue since late December but i had worry about that in the first few weeks. Also i keep my house pretty much the same temp as outside because Im cheap as shit and also its not to drastic here. I have been worried about bugs but havent had any issues as of yet. I read that i could possible concoct my own organic pesticide with soap and some spices but i havent done it yet. Do you have any suggestions? Oh and the labor of moving them really isn't a huge deal for me. They are moved maybe 10-15 yards from inside the house to right outside the side or front of the house. I don't have neighbors on either side of me. Just two plots of wooded area. So ive got some privacy. I will start a manual journal just for future references and what not though

I think your making it too complicated haha, I say pick one or the other, keep her outside or inside. If you pick up 2 or 3 50w cfls that will be plenty of light to work with 100% indoors. You will see a much healthier, happier plant. You also won't need to worry about pesticides or other crap like that then. You can grow a plant the way you are doing it but it will produce a low yeild of low quality bud.
Second thing I recommend is just try your best to pick up some decent dirt and fertalizer, foxfarm products are available at alot of hardware stores like fleetfarm or your local hydro/gardening store

Thanks dude, im surprised and excited at how its gone so far. I actually just measured them this morning and they are both at about 14 inches from the base of the stem to the new growth. The stem is lst'd and is a little hidden by dirt in the pictures. Whats the average for a plant 6 3/4 weeks old?(theyll be 7 weeks on saturday) Dumb question i know given the fact their are many variables and you dont know the strain. I was just wondering if there is an estimate chart or something. I plan on veggin them for about 10 weeks. Space isnt much of an issue but since i am moving them in and out i dont want them to be gigantic. Also i didnt mention the main reason im using sunlight is because im cheap and dont really want to bring any suspicion on my electric bill. Also i heard you can't really beat the sun. I havent had any bug issues yet but it has been a worry. Do you have any suggestions as to a homemade organic pesticide?

Thanks for your response dude. I don't feel like its too much though. I just wake up put them outside go about my day come home from work and place them under lights until like 12-1230. The only reason i dont keep them inside all the time is 1) im cheap and didnt want to pay a lot on my electric and 2) i dont want to bring attention on my electric bill...and im cheap. Ive heard of foxfarm but would probably have to order it. Could i actually change soil at this point or is that for future grows? Also what are some good nutrients to use?

No you can't beat the sun, but in and out will hurt the plant. believe me, you most definitely will not raise suspicion with 3 cfls, a cfl grow with some fans pulls maybe 200 w while a fridge could use up to 750 and a washing machine uses up to 1000 wats

You could Transplant depending on what size pot they're in now. Otherwise I could be for future grows. Foxfarm has a full line of soil and nutrients

True, what lights do you recommend for when i switch to flowering and do you think 10 weeks would do them justice or is that too much or too little?

Flowering you want lights in the red spectrum, this mimics fall colors. But it's not a huge deal when your first starting to grow. You can flower whenever you want, some people do 1212 from seed, some people wait 3 or 4 months to flip to flower. All depends on how much room you have, and how much light you can supply a plant that's a good proportion to its size. 200w of cfl is good for a plant up to a foor tall or so but you will need more light of your plant gets too big. Remember, cfls also should be kept 2-3" from your plant for the best light utilization. The best way to efficiently use indoor cfl light is to train and lst like you are doing so it's easier to evenly spread light across your whole plant

This is a 8 week old plant. Vegged for 5 weeks, finishing 3rd week of flower.
Cheap Organic soil, small handful of amendments, ONLY water.
They are 40-46 inches tall.

inside/outside grower here, flowering with cfls inside, vegging outside/inside. You have the idea, and you have made a few mistakes already, but for me its nothing surprising for a new grower. To give you an idea on what you can accomplish here is a few picture. 1 is my flowering one, she's been inside and outside many of time, honestly ot lucky with the bug issue, 2nd picture i'm putting up is number 2 that i'm vegging outside for a week to give number 1 some room and to not have it under a 12/12 light cycle, 3rd is the setup in a closet inside my house with cfls in it. All i've used is organic soil I make and standard water aired for 24hrs

Nice!!!! So im assuming if i veg another 3 weeks mine will end up pretty tall. Are you doing any lsting? Ive got both of mine wrapping around the rim of the planter to try to avoid too much hieght and to let the lower leaves get aspossible light as possible.
