They will sprout faster at about a 1/4 inch. altho you can cover it with less, as long as the seeds covered.
if you dont slightly pack the soil down, you will likely have to remover tje shell.
if your seedlings pop up, but dont shed their shell, you will have to remove the shells

Yes, but i wouldnt disturb them. its not worth the risk of exposing roots to light

I raised the peat pots to about 4 inches away from the light. Is this a bad idea or should I run with it?
Edit: Measurements were off, they were 2 inches away from the light. I got a bit skived out by them being so close that I put them back into their original positions which is closer to 4 or 5 inches away.

i really like the way you structure it! it looks great! although unfortunately you will lose the ability to edit earlier posts eventually.. but i think, especially how you structured it,you should create a new thread to help newbies out. it's excellently written.Exactly how I felt!

Alright, been checking on my babies frequently. Noticed today that the soil was a bit dry so I touched it up a little to get a little moist. Still haven't seen any sprouters, I am assuming that I may have planted them to deep? I hope not. I think it just means I would have to wait a little bit longer.

yeah you planted them just a tad to deep, but only for them to sprout quickly. the only thing you've done is very slightly prolonged breaking the soil. no worries!

That's exactly what I thought, it's okay, I guess. I just wanted to make sure my soil was good and moist with no standing water and that the temp is right where it's supposed to be. I put a heating pad under my set up this morning because we had a cold night... which means they had a cold night. I am plateauing the temp at 22° Celsius, which should be perfect for them. The heating pad is a simple heating blanket with no physical contact to the plastic, there is a towel between the two and it successfully plateaued the temp so that's pretty exciting!
I will also get my grow tent today and will supply pictures of it when I get it all set up. I still don't have all the lights and y connectors and adapters yet so I am going to have to maintain the same set up except I can remove the dome now and find a way to hang my only light.
