First Time Grower - The Secret Garden

didnt your ag come with some beginning nutes? mine did and thats what i used when mine were so young so i didnt shock them. just let it sit in q cupof water until it breaks down once it does add that shit in. anyone heard anything about "mental floss"? im gettin some clones of it soon.

I have the 7-pod garden, 5.5 mL packets, and 8 mL packets.
I haven't given it any nutrients yet, although this guide says to start with the 8mL's right away.

How often do I add nutrients? My guess is I should fill the reservoir and add one packet. Pour another packet in a gallon of distilled water and that's what I use to top off the reservoir. Does that sound right?

On a side note, I got an "eighth" last night...they keep getting smaller and crappier, yet the price stays the same. I can't wait till this garden provides. It's hard to get it here, because I'm not the type to approach strangers in the ghetto and I haven't decided to get the medical marijuana card, although I'm wondering if I should, just to tide me over until the plant produces. It's a bit pricey, but I'd rather pay for quality than what I'm getting now.
 
do you have a scale? anyone who buys pot should if not your askin to get ripped off. and id pay the money for the card to go buy top of the line shit. are you serious? if it was available here id be first in line. youll be able to buy any thc goods. brownies, cookies, hash, butters. and look up a local hydropinics store around you and go pick up some general hydroponic nutes and just use those. directions are on the side it tells you when and how much to add.
 
I *heard* of someone who will give cards without looking at medical records, for $250, and I have the person's number, but I don't know the etiquette, if any, to start a conversation on the subject. I don't know the address, and he's an hour away, so I can't drive by and scope it out.
I haven't done any research on more-local dispensaries either...but I will.

I took 2 pics today, I noticed the leaves towards the bottom are turning brown. But the new growth on top looks healthy. Should I be concerned? I am going to start nutrients tomorrow.

hey man, im also bout week and half into my ag grow, got 2 goin. ive got a post goin as well. and what are your lights at? i like a 20/4, but its fairly cool here and the water doesnt evaporate as much. however if its warmer where you are maybe too much light, or not enough water could be dryin her up. just cater to what u think she needs, looks dry? maybe just a bit too much light and change it up another hour of darkness.
also ive got the ag starter kit nutes which are the solid tabs, but i use about half of a tab dissolved in ph'd water when i do the res change, hopefully weekly, sometime week and a half cause i work and smoke too much lol, but i usually start giving nutes when i start raising the lights, 2-3 weeks or so, i gave mine a few crumbs of a nute tab i found in a little baggy. but prob not necessary yet.

One of the leaves' tips is turning brown and the leaves are starting to get yellow spots.
I moved the timers from 20/4 to 18/6. The lights are a good 4" from the plant, it's not stretching.

I wonder if the heat is too much. It's around 90 in the closet, and I have to keep it closed. In the evening, when the CFLs are on, I open the door and set the fan outside the door to see if it blows some cooler air in. My only alternative to the closet is to buy a grow tent and put it in the basement. In the winter I'd have to move it back to the closet because it would probably get too cold in the basement.

Arrgh Help!
 
I *feel* that there is too much light bombarding my plant, so I am going to switch off the CFLs for a while and just go on the AG lights to see what happens. I'm going to grab some nutrients this weekend and probably start on them next week. Monday will be week 4.

Hey there!
I have been adding nutrients to my water since the beginning. I started at 1/4 of a small starter nutrient tab, then to half a starter tab and then up to 1 starter tab which i have used for the last 2 weeks. I am on week 5

here are some pics

(by the way, I also noticed one of my plants leaves is more light green/yellowish than the other! I wonder why that is)

Hey Ganja girl! i read the post about your temp problems. i just went through the same thing. its pretty simple. i have a closet about the same size and the temps (with cfls) would always go into the 90's. the reason why is b/c the fan was moving the exact same air in circles heating it up more and more each time the air went by the lights. so what i did was cut a hole in the drywall the same size as the fan.(leading to an empty space behind the drywall) i have the fan blowing all the air into this hole. now my temps stay exactly at 80.. (i even took 4 100watt incandecent bulbs and the temp still stayed at 80) since you have already invested money in an aerogared i would deff invest in some ventalation!!!!

Like I said, my only other option is to move it to the basement. My house is designed in such a way that I have limited hiding space. The attic is way too hot, apparently this 2nd floor closet is way too hot, there's no useful space on the first floor, so I think the basement is my next option. I'm going to search on ebay for a grow tent--I've seen the lowest prices there.

I changed the light schedule around so that it gets darkness at night, that way I can have the door open all the time and it gets fresh air. I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier....Right now it's at 80. I'm going to stop and pick up some nutrients today.

Welcome! I just found this wonderful community a few weeks ago.
Say, Yukon Territory is Canada, correct? And they have pretty lax laws on marijuana....do they have any Medical Marijuana laws? If so, you could look into getting your MM card, that would make it legal to carry, and you wouldn't be paying outrageous prices for shit weed....I just started looking into it for where I live.
