First time grower

K so this is my first year growing. I forget the exact day I started my plants, but i know it was late march/early april. I've been giving them organic nutes, and so far just like a 30-10-10 (or something like that, I forget). So, here are some pics of them that I took today, and if anyone can give me some input on how shitty or good they look, if i should top them, or anything, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks,

Thanks man! I'll do that in a couple days.. or maybe tomorrow. depends on if my grow partner is up to it or not :p the spot is a decent ways away from where i live so i can't just make trips any time. Also, i'm not overly clear on HOW to top... do i just trim the top of it just above the last node like with a razor blade or scissors?

Its not necessarily beneficial to top all plants. It only increases yield for some plants, if you know your strain you could find out. According to my medical grow bible, jack herer, durban poison and mighty mite yield more from being topped. however on other strains the main cola is where all the bud weight is, and you dont wanna top them, unless of course you're worried about the height drawing attention. I would recommend removing lower, spindly branches, not the top...

They're looking good however, you might want to use some bug repellent as I can see something has been nibbling on your leaves.

I'm also in a situation similar to CGM, the seeds grown were just from good bud I smoked and I am unsure of whether to top them or not. Also, I was wondering how to go about increasing the width and overall strength of the stalk. Any input is appreciated.

Ok, so I decided to try LST on a couple plants and topping on another couple. I just have one question about LST... how long should i leave the plant bent for?

yeah, i kinda get the idea of both methods... but what i'm asking is how long to leave the plants bent for when using LST. Thanks tho

Actually I do have some new pics. but they suck. I'll give an update very soon. Gonna go to the spot with a camera (not my phone this time) and take some pics. I've moved a few of the shitty looking ones inside to see if they work better there. And about growing in my back yard... it's a bit of an issue sometimes when you live with your parents and they don't approve of it. Otherwise I would :(

I'll consider it, however, for next year... there might be a spot behind my shed. but i'd worry about it being noticed from the field behind my house where people walk quite often. That, or maybe get a lowrider and blend it in with my raspberry bush?

aaand there you go guys. some new pics :p mike2win is my growing partner. Yeah, as he said, 7 remales left :( I thought there would be more. Oh well. A few females were brought inside, so there are actually about 9 or 10 females, and some have died.

We should be able to get an update within the week. It just wont stop raining here so doesn't give one too many excuses to go. Oh, and can anyone tell me if my plants have any deficiencies by looking at the leaves?

Thanks

there is no reason to top or lst when doing outdoor. the reason we do it is because of lack of space or light, when your outdoor you dont have that issue.
be carefull how close the hermi is to the rest, dont want to pollenate them to.
the only thing i would do is if needed is to tie the side branches out.
i would assume your canadian as i am from the name and flower time is upon us and topping will cause stress and may hermi, need to do that stuff during veg

k we got rid of the hermi. and we're left with 8 confirmed FEMALES! :D I'm really stoked for this, the buds are forming, lots of white hairs. I went to see them yesterday, and I'm gettin really antsy. We've been LSTing a few, and it actually really does help. especially in our spot cause there isnt much wind hitting them. I tried tying a few branches out to see how it works as a bit of an experiment, and holy shit. one week and you see a HUGE difference. I'm trying different techniques i've read about to just see how they work out in the end, along with LST. I've pinched the stems on a few, i'm trying pinching the top of the buds on one, and stuff like that. I'm gonna see how feeding them used coffee grinds helps. It has helped my parents garden immensly, so I'm gonna see how well it works on my little garden. If anyone has any info on this, I would appreciate the input. Thanks everyone, the support is awesome.
