I am growing to love this site. So much helpful info but where there is bad there is good. There is so many topics/posts that its hard to get a clear answer sometimes, that or im just really retarded. Both are plausible lol. I only plan on growing around 8 plants at a time for now and gradually upgrading to a bigger set up when more money comes around. I am starting with a DWC setup.

DWC im planning on using (8 of these)

I am getting a 5x5 grow tent and am picking up the following items which I think is everything I need. I looked at other grow tents and kinda threw this together so im probably leaving something out

Tent
25' of 6" flex duct
6" carbon filter w/ inline fan
1 600 Watt HPS (flowering)
1 600 Watt MH (vegging)
Dimmable Digital E-Ballast + Air Cool Little Sun 6 Panel Reflector
Humidity Monitor
PPM reader
PH tester
Rockwool Cubes
Clay stones

and these chemicals (good or bad?)
http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Flora-Series-FloraBloom/dp/B0024NDVRA/ref=pd_sim_lg_1

All this for a whopping $700 (ouch says my pocket)

Can I just germinate my seeds and start them in the bucket I will end up growing them in or do I have to grow them a little and then transplant them?

Thanks for all the help and sorry for the long post.

1 unless your going to scrog them.. 5x5 is awful tight for 8 girls.
2 you might want to check into building you a flood and drain system.. They're cheap to build and its a whole lot easier to maintain ph, temp, nute levels in 1 main res than in 8 diff buckets.
3Gen hydro sucks!!!! Check out Dutch masters gold, excellent nutes.. Had my last batch of ladies up to 1550 ppms and never had 1 leaf burn or any signs of a def.

What would be a good amount of plants for a 5x5? I only made 4 buckets so far, would that be better if im going to let them grow as tall as possible in there (6.5' tent height). I was up all night last night researching and was reading that people were fitting 12-14 in that space. I thought it was odd but I seen multiple people on different sites claiming this. Could I possibly fit 6 in there? How much of a yield do you think I will get?

Do you know of any links on how to build a flood and drain system? Hopefully a very cheap but good one. My budget was originally $400 max (wife is going to be pissed) so im already $300 over that.

I have no idea what im looking for. Is this all I would need for DMG or is there more?
