First time growing, went a little overboard with defoliation. Never expected my girls to do this

Actually you can still see pm all over your top leaves. That Is not splaskback up there. The spots on your floor and all over you buckets could be splashback (if so you are messy as hell) but again you didnt splash leaves. Do you even have a jewelers loupe to look for bugs cause you cant see them with eyes. Which you were told possible bugs and pm from numerous people on here. Guess we are all trolls.
Like this one right know it all

I had seen the threads but thought I had read the last page on this one, looking back I missed a couple. That's gonna be tough to beat with no leaves to sacrifice. I tried heavy defoliation with tomatoes the summer before last to disastrous results after we got hit with a vicious mold, usually with a blight or mold i would have clipped the bad leaves and used neem and copper rotations. No leaves to spare and already bearing fruit they didn't have the energy to fight it. I picked all of em off, ready or not and they started growing new leaves and starting over, however way too late to matter. Hope they make it, I've never had spider mites or pm on cannabis so I can't be any help there
They are fine there are definatly no bugs as far as pm, i got sloppy when i watered them last time is all thats why in those pics it was on the buckets also if you were to see them in person it is different then seeing a pic

I have done the way pertty much like the way how you grow bro, only the 2nd defoliation earlier than yours about 2-3days after flowering ( normally ).

But last time i have been super busy so I had the 2nd defoliation much later when it turned week 2-3 . Surprisingly i found that might be the time i should do that . All the buds are growing much better than before .

As I am new been growing for about 2yrs only , before I was doing perrty much like what other people told me . But most of them were the one i expected , i started growing with my own way mix other online infos about a year ago . I'm so glad that you shared the information I need .

Now I can be surly to defoliation .

Have you ever heard another defoliation technique at around week 4-6 ? I have been heard lots grower done that to increase yield and decrease the chance of bud rot .
I have been growing for a long time but only really been experimenting with defoliation for a couple of years. People are so divided about the subject and vehemently defend their side but like most everything in life it really is not a black and white thing. Some strains like it more than others and some strains prefer it to be done at a certain time. I'll bet that you can take even more leaves off around later in life but I have never really tried it because I generally take most all of the leaves off around week 3. This is after they have stretched out and the vegetative growth has pretty much stopped so there are not any more big fan leaves growing at this point. I think the best way to do it is really to take just a couple of leaves off every few days to reduce the potential for shock. Removing all the leaves at once will certainly shock your plants but by removing just a couple of the biggest leaves every few days it isn't as hard on the plants. Whenever I defoliate a crop twice (once at day 1 and again at day 21) I notice that it always takes this crop at least a week longer to finish and usually about 10 days. So if you would normally harvest at day 70, it takes 80 days. In my mind it is debatable as to whether this extended flowering time is made up for by the increase in weight. By pruning off just a couple of leaves at a time the plants will finish in a more normal time frame but it is pretty time consuming to do.

Sure looks like it will be amazingly productive to me. But as far as defoliation goes. You kinda have to to make your set up work.

I'm tuned in to see this bloom up. Really awesome work in there!

well I guess we all got fooled by your pic's as it sure does look like PM especially on the lower leaves.....

I'm no expert but when you have someone like Dr. Who state he believes it's PM, then I would be concerned as he's typically correct

I provided an alternative PM treatment, but I guess it's worthless if you truly believe you have the problem eradicated

many of us don't agree with defoliation, but that's just merely our opinions..... but PM is one thing we can all agree upon as being extremely bad

So I'll sum it up as being either:
1) your camera is misrepresenting the actual true health and condition of your plants
2) you are ignoring the truth about the PM issue

Perhaps a few close up pic's of the leaves in question could provide clarify if you have a PM issue or not.

I would definitely consider that it is powdery mildew .. I can understand trying to find anything but as most people will tell you to trash it if it is pm , and this can be one of the most heart breaking things to do .. but I will say people are generally more picky when it comes to there own stuff and I'm afraid you won't be able to enjoy it properly knowing it's got pm , sell it by all means but if it gets returned with mold I don't think the line its splash back from feeding will go down great lol

No ones trying to get you to throw a crop for shits n giggles , there trying to advise you on your plants health and the possible negative affects on your own health if you convince yourself it isn't and smoke away :)

Smoke safe and enjoy

@Alwayslearnin I don't think anybody is trying to troll you or anything. We all can see that it was pm in the previous posts. I didnt see any spider mite webs but I wasn't looking hard.
Water will only clear the pm temporarily, the spores will take hold again once the conditions reach their liking. Possibly you did more and killed some of the spores if you used hydrogen peroxide, greencure or something like that that changes the leafs pH. I wish you luck but if you are going to harvest, I suggest strongly it now becomes personal smoke for you and I would expect a sickly feeling in your stomach to accompany your high. Maybe that is just me being a light weight.

Yeah ! I know there are different strains may comes another way to grow , some like stay with more leafs , some like extra CALMAG, some enough strong light system even in the early Veg stage.

Once upon time I really did took most of the fan leafs off at the same day .I wish I knew that was wrong earlier. Doing a few leafs only at a time surly get better results and healthy plant .

I been playing with baking powder and some N-Oil ect.. with my girls ever since they were baby .

The PM seems not coming back no more , and the baby girls looking shiny .

CH9 Blue Lemon Thai
How does that one smoke? I have been looking for another nice lemon thai for a few years now. I used to grow Elite Genetics Lemon Thai x Killer Kush for a couple of years and although I let it go I wish I had kept it for headstash because it was such an energetic uplifting buzz. It was better than a cup of coffee or an energy drink. I would be totally hyperactive and it was great for hiking or snowboarding or just getting some work done. It grew a bunch of small conical absolutely rock hard nugs that would turn kind of purple at the end and it tasted just like a lemonhead candy. I really liked the super energetic buzz and I would like to find another one like it. Any suggestions?

It is a bit more complex with medical properties but still very uplifting. Ch9 seeds has stopped producing new fem seeds for another project as far as I know but this Motorebel hybrid was still in stock.

It is Ch9Toxic Blue 33 x Lemon Thai and it has original ECSD in the toxic blue side.

The descriptions have Mota's original description of the strains used.

What pests can you not see with your eyes? Op why don't you post this pm picture over again with a new picture of the same area i can't find the picture and tbh these guys aren't going to tell you that if they don't think it... Your grow room IS unacceptably dirty if it isn't pm yet you will have problems eventually that stem from uncleanliness. Lucky you easy Fix, just clean up lol

After seeing this thread,I might start defoliating one of my plants more drastically to see if the buds end up different on top of and below the canopy.
So far I've lightly defoliated for about 5 hours and the canopy is still insanely thick.
There was a video of some med grower defoliating all his crop (was a massive grow) anyone know where it is? I cant seem to find it anymore. Wasn't the same one posted earlier in this thread.

Right on thanks for the info. I guess there are still a couple of 10 packs on Attitude but the 5 packs and single seeds are sold out. I'm pretty sure the Elite Genetics Lemon Thai is worked from the Motarebel strain since I think they were doing projects together at the time and Elite was selling some Motarebel beans. I have thought about buying that one before because it is one of the only things out there with that same lemon thai in it. I just never usually go for feminized seeds since I like to breed. I do miss that strain though...
