IMG_0575.jpgIMG_1991.jpgIMG_5602.jpgIMG_5313.jpg First and foremost thanks to the communithy for getting me this far. This is the result of 4 months and five plants and my first run with alot of answered questions on RIU... I used 3 600 watts on a mover and had a heart attack 472 times with all the mistakes i made it still came out dense with what i think is a descent yeild........ blah blah blah.... so now i have a room thats full of hanging buds... what i did, trimmed individual branches then took off the fan leaves. that was yesterday... i have 2 fans in the room just for air movement... neither of them pointing on any bud.. however one can oscilate. should i be doing that or no? also bought jars but dont really understand much of the process of jaring. One of my buddies told me be extra careful if you jar too soon it will end up smelling like hey. Of course I dont want that... How do i best increase funky aromas and THC quality at this point? any tricks or tips are helpful!! thx

Looking good , Great job.. One of the most important factors in drying and curing is the temps & the rh ( relitive humidity ).
Not sure how big your room is but an oscilating fan is good , but just dont over do it.. It should'nt be windy in there.
Turn that light off it degrades thc , & most importantly IMO keep the dry area cool like 62f-68f & a rh btwn 30-40%.
Then jar when u lightly squeeze the bud and it pops back not stays dented where u squeezed..
Another thing to look for is the stem the more green it is the more moisture it has , u want it greyish...
THis is how I Do It Not Saying Its The Right Way But My Way.. Good Luck!!

Dry them slowly and evenly. It should take at least a week. IMO temps in the 65-70 range and RH of 50% is optimal for a nice slow dry.

If the branch breaks when you bend it rather than just fold over, it is dry enough. You can also roll a joint, if it stays lit and burns evenly, it is dry enough.

Yea what you want to do is keep the temperature below 80 degrees because the terpenes will start to dissipate at this temperature. You want to keep all light off of them because this degrades the THC. Keep the humidity between 50 to 60 percent to prevent mold but not dry the buds too fast. ( the air will smell like baking bread) You want them to dry until the ends of the stems snap and the stems between the buds still bends. By slowly drying them you allow the bacteria to breakdown the chlorophyll and convert it into sugars and starches creating a smooth taste and aromatic smell without the harsh plant taste or smell. By not letting them dry until the stem snaps between the buds you are not over drying them and letting the oils and terpenes dry out and lose their odors and tastes. At this point you should jar them up to let the moisture evenly redistribute throughout the buds again until you see moisture on the jar and open them and air them out for a few hours then close them up again until no moisture is on the jar. If you time it right you can put them into the jars at the right time and never have to open them again until your ready to smoke them. Most people wait 2 weeks once in the Jars but some wait up to 2 months and even up to a year!
