First time hydro, fuck yeah!

So I'm finishing up my first hydro grow and I'd like to say thanks to the RIU hydroponic dudes!!

I'm harvesting this weekend but I nicked off a nug a few days ago for the hell of it. I'm about to hit my first bowl from my first hydro grow, might be cheesy for some but I'm a huge organic-head and wanted to try hydro to see things from my own perspective.

Let me just say, it's so much easier to grow in hydro than in soil, even if they say "soil is more forgiving", it's been great and I've upped my set-up for another run

So cheers RIU, thanks for all the help in this forum! :bigjoint:

Great smoke! It's from an unknown strain (my friend game a sack of mixed seeds) and I'm sure I've grown this in soil because the pheno is very familiar, as is the taste.

I guess I should review it in contrast to the soil grow...

It's looks just as good, although I let this one go longer and it turned slightly purple, it tastes and smells very sweet, maybe not as strong of a taste as in soil, but it's still great. Smooth smoke, burns great, and has a nice mellow stone, I can tell it's going to help my arthritis... which is good.

edit: this isn't cured all the way, so no shit it won't smell and taste as good as the previous grow... my mistake.

You can't be sure of the strain either.. to compare to soil. But ya.. I started growing with hydro.. and I see all the plant problem stuff coming from guys growing in soil... you should check out DWC.. it's easier than anything.. no timers, no drainage bull crap... just a bucket and and air pump and stone...

right, well it was obvious to me that I had grown this strain before, there were three strains and I knew them all pretty well, I grew them all throughout the year so I became familiar with it, not only with how they grew, but how they smelt and tasted at this point in the cure.

I tried the last seed from this batch on the waterfarm, and although it was really simple, I can see how DWC is much easier.

For sure man, I'll check it out

Scottyballz grow is what inspired me to go hydro and I got the waterfarm bucket he uses and I have to agree with Simon Cowell that the dwc or waterfarm style are so simple with the no timers and its simple a air pump and water.
