Hey there. I want to start growing some plants indoors for first time, i have no previous experience from indoors growing and I need your help. I know all the proccess of how to grow weed because i've done it before 2 times but only outdoors. So can someone tell me please what equipment should i get, what should i look for and what to keep an eye on when i grow them.. I'm growing 15 plants to begin with, so what kind of size should i choose for my tent? Also, can u suggest me some good ones? I dont know if there are brands or something. Then, what about lighting? I should go with full spectrum led i suppose? How many Watts do i approx. need for 15 plants? And again any suggestions? After a quick search i found some affortable websites (mars-hydro.com , viparspectra.com and zenhydro.com) are these any good? Notice, i am in europe so if you could probably find a website that is not only US based, would be perfect. And Ventilation? What should i know about it? I am in appartment so how can i make this work? Anything that can help me set this up, please write below!

How big do you plan to grow them?

I could fill a 5 x 10 foot tent with 2 plants or 100 plants. It all depends on how you intend to grow them. More veg time = larger plants.

You light an area, how many plants you fit in that area depends on you.

With LED there are a LOT of shitty ones. Basically avoid any light that claims 1000 watts when it really draws much much less.

HLG, Timber, Spyder, Gavita, Lumatek all make some great lights. You get what you pay for with LED, don't skimp.

In an apartment things get really difficult. I suggest researching odor control. Is it legal where you are located? If it is not legal then you really need to make sure that you control odor.

There are a LOT of grows on here that you can look at to get ideas and see how others have solved the problems you will confront.

Controlling humidity is something that you will also need to be concerned with.

The absolute best thing you can do is start reading. Every possible question you have will have been answered many times on this forum and you can see in users journals how much success has been had using various methods.

Good luck and happy growing.

To add to what @Renfro covered...what is the space that you have to work with? Are you going to have a separate veg area and bloom area?
Do you have height/space restrictions? What is your native climate like? How will you deal with the coming summer heat? Do you have a/c? CMH with external ballast run cool maybe 1º warmer than the room in a tent if the ballast is outside the tent, but you need the vertical space for the vertical bulb. What medium are you growing in? For odor control and intake fans I suggest investing in variacs to control your exhaust fans as well as intake fans. Pictures of your space or dimensions would be helpful as well.

Hello, thanks for your reply.
I have a room in my house which i will be using completely for this operation so space isnt really a problem i believe. The climate is really hot in the summer, like 35 degrees celcious standard, and it can go up to 38-39. I have an A/C but its in the next room unfortunately. I have also a thing that absorbs the humidity of the room. After some search i found a decent for my budget led light, Spider Farmer-1000. I think i need 2 of them because of the number of my plants. Grow tent size suggestions? Could a 4x8 do the job? And i have some more questions, how far does the light has to be from the plants? And will that remain the same distance at all stages of growing? How many hours do i need to have it ON, like all day or? When i was growing outdoors i let them grow naturally i didnt force them to flower or something like some guides/methods i read about indoors growing so i really dont know if i should follow another proccess now or just keep the plants the way they are. My idea is i just water them when i see the soil gets dry, always control the temperature and get the smells out. Im not growing autos. They are feminized skunk plants and not like the big and tall ones. So about ventilation i just have to buy and setup one of those kits in my grow tent and i will be ok?

at 39º c your room will be at 101ºf you should set things up and get your environment dialed in.
Temps above 81º without co2 is a getting up there, I am sure @Renfro can add to this dialogue.

I can add to the dialogue, in farenheight #'s, that with LED lighting you actually want a canopy temperature up around 83 - 85 F with ambient CO2 levels. This is due to the fact LED is lacking in the infrared light spectrum that warms the leaf surfaces. When you put your hand under a HPS light you feel the heat from the infrared, you will note that heat is lacking under LED. Low leaf surface temps slow growth so with LED lighting the demand for cooling is considerably less.

As to your lights, a light covers an area, how many plants you choose to fit in that area depends on you and veg time. So if you want a 4x8 tent, get two lights that will each cover a 4x4 area in flower.

Id pass on the Spiderfarmer, those sf-1000's are good for a 2x2 so to do a 4x8 tent you need 8 of them lol.

Two of these would work

As you can see it's a lot more light and thats what you will need for a 4x8 is two of those or something thats about as costly.

Like I said, you get what you pay for with LED. If you are on a budget then you may consider going with HPS and paying for some cooling.
