First time outdoor - Some pictures

Hello fellow cannabis lovers,

i am always been an indoor guy for various reasons and this year i wanted to make some experiments(topping, fimming, defoliating and lollipopping) with photo seeds on top of growing my autos.

All what i wanted to do worked out and i found myself with no space inside to continue growing everything. Kept the autos indoor and i moved my photos outdoor to flower after vegging for about 8/9 weeks inside.

Had to battle a bit with leaf miners, mealybugs and caterpillars but i managed - Needless to mention, i never had these issues indoor!

Here they are - The furthest away is the sativa dominant lady in its 6th week of flowering with the huge buds.
The rest are 3 weeks approx into flower.

I got absolutely no idea how i am doing outdoors and would appreciate any feedback/input/comments you guys might have.

PS: You will also see in one of the pictures my weed guardian. She seems to know that they matter to me and spends most of her time lying in front of them like protecting them...maybe she likes the smell like me??

Cute doggo. If you transplant, do it at night and soak them real nice after.
I think a transplant would help them out a bit until harvest.
Try smart pots or raised beds next year.

They look really healthy...
But if you are serious about giving outdoors another go....
1. Give them way more root room. 25-50 gallons min.
2. Start them way sooner. Gives you more time to train for more tops.

Other then that it's a great first go at it.
Thanks a lot for that!

Honestly, it was not planned, hence the small pots - I wanted to try stuff and thought plants would be stunted or would die. When i saw that not only did they survive, but were also developing like they should after the shock, i changed my mind and wanted to keep them. But because of space issues had to go outside.

Now that i know more, and that i am seeing them developing...especially after seeing your outdoor MONSTERS, i will from now on do both indoor and outdoor. Will keep autos for full schedule indoor and will move photos outdoors after veg

Bigger pots, and start sooner, i will be ready for next winter!!

I had very bad experience with transplanting during flowering before - Hence why i am using the 2 pot technique.

I destroyed the base of the first pot then put it in another 3/4 filled with medium so roots would go down in the second pot. I am afraid it will be a mission to transplant without hurting them badly root wise!

Looking pretty healthy there guy. I grow outdoor in 10 gallon buckets. Not all of us live in a legal state where we can run huge pots. I have to keep mine to a minimum but I did produce some nice 6-7 foot trees this year.

Bugs are part & parcel outdoor. Comes with the territory. I always through comb through my buds at harvest time and rinse completely in buckets with peroxide and water.

JbcCT, .do you use the peroxide and water after you harvest or right before? Is there a visable need or as a precaution? I have outdoor Super skunk and 2 of the plants grew several branches of purple buds, stunted in growth but beautiful as well, I wondered if it was due to a pest/infection.

Correct - I am not in a legal country (yet) and can't afford huge monsters which would increase the risk of me being spotted. Thanks - Looks like i fought off caterpillars and mealybugs but leaf miners keep coming every 2 weeks or so. This morning i had to cut down 3 more leaves that were affected. I do not know how to stop them from coming back cause at this rate, by the end of flowering, i'd be left with only the buds lol!

But i have one good news if you look at the pic - Saw 2 of these beautiful ladybugs this morning in my garden. Hope they reproduce a lot and quickly and help me fight the bugs. Although i guess leaf miners are not concerned by ladybugs cause they inside the leaves right?
