I used a 600 watt mh/hps and only got 6.5oz. I'm alittle bummed because I was expecting atleast 8 especially since i was growing northern lights which is supposed to be a heavy yielder. vegged for 2 months, 3 plant scrog. Did i do that horrible? I was hoping to be able to grow an lb with my 600 but now im not really sure i can do it without co2 and switching to hydro. my closet is 3x3 will a sog in that area yield more then a scrog?

2 oz a plant for nl isn't bad, hydro will produce bigger yeilds for sure, i switched a few years back and havn't looked back since.

just over 2 oz is good, but if you want bigger yeilds then hydro is your best bet.you have to be alot more accurate with feeding tho,coz your plants can get sick quickly.growing in soil is alot more forgiving.

You could look into doing a perpetual harvest. That's where the plants range in age from young to old in the same area and you can harvest one every couple weeks.

Scrog, but put in another plant. I have a 3x3x7 tent and run four plants under a screen and pull about 11 ounces at harvest in soil. Maximize the usage of that light. Four trained plants gave me a nice full canopy. Hydro is great, but not for everybody. If you are a busy man who enjoys quality more than quantity, stick with soil. Hope I helped broseph. Good luck!

6.5oz for a 600W grow is low.
It means you did quite a few things wrong.

You can get at least 12.5oz with just proper soil mix (good emount of compost, kelp and some perlite if needed), water and humic acids at the end using a SCROG with 3x Northern Lights.
But you need to make sure your light is not further than 20 inches, that you have enough ventilation, that your temps are right and that you don't stress your plants too much.
With soil its very important to use big pots. For 2.5-3 months veg, like you'd probably need you want AT LEAST 6 gallon pots. I'd get 10 gallons if it was up to me.
Then start flowering only when you have a dense canopy under the screen.

I rock a 600W as well (and another cabin with 400W while switching the lights when needed) and I'm quite sure I've passed 10oz. (if not I'll be quite bummed)
check out my journal ;)
