So this is my first grow and right now I don't have the greatest set up. I got three free clones, kept two gave one to my friend. The plant with the stick was trimmed yesterday, I cut about 3 inches off the top to try and get the bottom portion to get bushy. The other one was trimmed up. Cut some off the bottom. Stuff that doesn't get light. ETC ETC. I am currently only using one CFL 60 watt about 3 inches from the top of both plants. I'm getting another CFL after I post this. I won't be able to put the light above the plants so should I put it on side of them? or below them?

I plan on building a grow box ASAP!!! I'm not sure of the dimensions I need. I want to have a Veg portion and always have a couple clones to keep it consistent. I also only want to have 3 (max) plants budding. In the other half of the box. So If I could get some pointers on maybe how to do the grow box. I have been looking around on this site for the last year now. But I still just don't know how I should do it :wall:

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!

Oregon is amazing :weed:
They just opened up the first coffee shop in Oregon! Downtown Portland

But anyways, The room isn't much of an Issue I was thinking about just putting it in my garage. I don't want it to be HUGE, but right now I'm growing "Morning Pearl" 90% Sativa 10% Indica. So I just basically want the minimum amount of room to be able to have 2-3 budding in a budding section and on the other side to have a mother and two or three clones... plus maybe a little space in the middle for storage of supplies and tools. bongsmilie

I'm really actually open to ALL suggestions, I'm fine with all building, electrical and everything else I would need to know since my dad is helping me out.

I know I'll need quite a few more CFL's, I just picked one more (know it's not nearly enough) It's going to be ghetto for a while, at least lights wise. I'm not looking to buy some big lights at the moment. SO I was thinking a few CFLS maybe 8 total? more? Scattered throughout the box? I want to do it cheap, but I also of course want good bud.

I was thinking just keeping the plants healthy and try to prolong the Vegging life. Then when the box is done transfer them into the box with all the lights. Bad idea? I have the wood. I still just don't know the dimensions, I was thinking 4 - 5 feet tall. 4-5 wide and 2 feet deep. Still not sure, need a little help

Here's my set up. I have an area for cloning, an area for vegging, and an area for flowering. I have a total of 6 plants in my flower chamber at all times but in 2 groups that are 4 weeks apart. The idea behind my setup is to harvest 3 plants every 4-6 weeks (depending on the strain) Feel free to stop by my thread to see the details of the cabinets design. You'll also learn what NOT to do. I made a lot of noob mistakes, maybe you can learn from them and avoid them. Good Luck. :peace: OUT! https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/220054-first-grow-400-watt-hps.html

That is pretty much exactly the set up I was thinking, just not as tall. Very nice set up though! I'll check yours out, thanks the help and info!

Easy fella. Yu definately need some more light in their mate. Get around 20 then we're talking. And thats just for vegging. CFL's struggle in flowering but im gonna try them anyways. I'm just starting a grow, a few weeks behind you seeing as im just sprouting some of my own seeds but feel free to watch and comment. :)

But yeh, the number of lights i mentioned would be optimum. Hanging at different levels to cover the best space.
One thing i wouldn't do is all the trimming mate. Just get another light to the side of them and keep those leafs on. If you keep taking them off, the plant cant even have the option of trying to absorb any light that reaches it cus they're aint nothing their to recieve it. So stop trimming! :P

Need anything, shout out.

jrp677,
What is that holding your lights up? I just noticed them, I've been using string with slipnots and shit, pisses me off more than anything, but been doing it that way for a while. Those look awesome.
