Hey, so last year did some outdoor plants and just seen how much they loved sunlight and just looked so alive. So this year I'm going to try growing watermelon and cantaloupe. I have been growing mmj for over a year now and learn a ton about plants and how they work but mainly focused towards mmj of course.

i live in Rhode Island and our season sucks after August my mmj plants were not finished 2 weeks into October an had to cut them down due to PM. I figure the cantaloupe says 105 days so I will plant them now inside under my t5 for April, may then put outside in the ground with my old forest farm FFOF soil for June,July...the watermelon says 80 days so ill start in late April under my t5 then out outside in June,July in the FFOF also.

any tips, tricks, pointers? Never grown anything but mmj lol. Wouldn't mind growing some food.

growing food is awesome!!!! , its pretty easy though, i mean if you can grow a basil plant you should be okie dokie! lettuce is an easy one, zuchini, cuccumbers, squashes , peas!

Do they flower like mmj based off light cycles or they just want as much light whenever they can get it? God feel like a brand new newb all over again lol.

nvm, did some googling... They just mature through time not light cycle so that's good but I learned the watermelon needs a screen build vertically cause they get huge so prob only going to grow one seed out cause nervous it will just be a disaster.

Give fruits and veggies at least 6 hrs of full sun for best results. None are photoperiod dependent like cannabis.

I grow a ton of veggies in the summer, you can get a lot off just a few plants! I've never grown watermelons though. I've always heard they were a picky plant. Although I don't know how true that is. Good luck with your grows!
